  • Hi everyone,

May I join in this month please, this will be my first time.

I'm aiming for £80.00 for the month, to include groceries, cleaning and laundry stuff. Cupboards and fridge/freezer are full and we have a chocolate mountain to get through.

Budget is for 1 adult and DS(12).

December was a complete loss as it was so chaotic, so this month is the real tight one! I have meal planned for the entire month, and we spent £50 yesterday, so my monthly challenge will be £200!

I would like to join this month please? I kept a strict list of everything we spent last month so i'm setting our budget at £150 for two adults.

Wish me luck and good luck to everybody else.

Went to Asda today with a shopping list, and bought everything we needed until 8th January - £32.33 spent.

I have bought a few smart price items to try - raviolli, chicken stock cubes and chicken cup soups. If we like them, we can switch from brand names and save a bit there.

Only things I forgot were washing up liquid and honey, so I'm quite pleased really.

Hi, also joining the challenge for January as really need to get finances in order! Also doing the 'Live on £4k for a whole year challenge', but cheating slightly as we have a big family so am aiming for £5k instead!!

Aim for January shopping is £45 a week (£225 for the month - money week starts on Thursdays) for the whole of January for 2 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs.

Good luck with your New Year challenges, everyone, and Happy New Year! :)
