Hello all,
Thankyou to singlemum for the banana loaf recipe - will be trying that one!
Orchid-96 - here is a recipe for spaghetti carbonara which will use some of your ham up. I love this recipe, its actually a slimming world recipe.
Should serve 2
Pot of fromage frais
parmesan cheese (i use the stuff in a plastic tub - it's cheaper!!) use as much or as little as you like
2 eggs
ham or bacon chopped up
Cooked spaghetti
mix/whisk together eggs, fromage frais and cheese in a bowl (you can add chopped chives, onion or spring onion to this too)
Cook spaghetti, return to pan with heat turned off, add mixture stir it in and replace lid - the heat from the spaghetti will warm the sauce through. If it's heated too much the egg will scramble!! Add ham and serve. Yummy!!
Had a no spend day today so really pleased!!#118 DFW Debt freely Christmas 2012 Challenge0 -

Wow this thread moves fast, managed to stay away from the shops today and for tea we had ham and pea risotto (with just long grain rice) which someone on here mentioned as something to do with what I had in...anyway it was really nice and even dh said it was nice - well he can't really tast properly at the moment as he has a problem with his ear and a cold, but he said "I can't really taste it properly, but from what I can taste it seems nice" so I will take that as a compliment  I have even got some leftovers for the twins to try for lunch tomorrow but its a guess as to whether they will entertain it! worth a try though...
Re the milk thing (watering down) my twins have to have full fat and I like skimmed (ds and dh are happy with full fat) so I tend to pick up some skimmed for myself but then when I don't have it in I top up the bottle with watered down full fat and find it is fine, I only really have it with tea though, but have had it with cereal and it was fine..
So a nsd today (apart from £2 for a cuppa at the local toddler group but that comes out of a different budget)
In my grocery budget I include all the housey stuff as well as food and also toiletries, but not petrol / ds dinner money / outings etc.Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

Hello everyone, just playing early evening catch-up in the forums. End of week one and my grocery spend for the week was only £17.58 This included today's Co-op additions as follow:
2 x Co-op wholemeal loaves (2 x 65p)
1 x Dairylea (on special at 67p again)
2 x Walkers Crisps multipacks (I think I've been overcharged! Receipt says £1.35 per bag, shop shelf said 2 for something... watch this space! I'm away to the Co-op now to check.)
BRBI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Forgot to say, went to lidl today for tins of chopped tomatoes and bananas, bought the bananas, gammon joint, some bits and peices of stationary, chocolate bar and diet coke, it all came to €15.10:eek: and I ended up forgetting the tomatoes:rotfl: . Just goes to show, keep me away from the shops (even food shopping) when my mind is elsewhere. Off to update my sig (sighhhhhhhh).Credit card €7892.36/€ 0

I will reach the end of week two in my grocery challenge and £5200 a year on Friday 11th. So far grocery bill this week has been £36.05 from £50 per week budget. I have done an online shop which comes to £38 including delivery for next week. I was well stocked before Christmas so it's topping up and won't need to buy cleaning products for a few weeks as I have loads. Any unused money at the end of the month will go to savings or to topping up the cupboard for supplies. Am I doing this correctly? £200 per month is my goal (£50 per week) and so far it seems doable? I am cooking from scratch and mixing vegetarian options as well as meat. We don't really eat puddings as such so yoghurts will have to suffice. How is everyone else doing?THE LONG AND THE SLOW ROAD SEEM TO APPLY TO DEBTS AND DIETS... THE TWO THINGS I WANT TO SEE THE BACK OF...:D0
