Well I managed not to do anymore spending, so my month was a little over. Count me in for the next one. Best stay at the same target though. Got more baby milk to buy this time, as Twin1 is half breast half bottle feeding now. Moving house this weekend so there will be a few takeaways to add in, too. Not been about much this month, but pop in to read here and there. No BB for a few days till its reset up in new house. But I will be back to focus and get the groceries back in line.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Mama67 - that info about out of stock promotions is very interesting. I have my main grocery order delivered by Mr T and on occasion a promotional item has been out of stock and has been replaced by another similar product which was not on promotion. They did not give any discount and sometimes the replacement was a higher price that the original at full cost . Do people who have their groceries delivered complain when this happens, or what? I certainly didn't realise that Tescos gave out promisory vouchers when promotional items were out of stock. Next time they do this to me they will get a very stern email and a request to send appropriate vouchers.

Jacks - You have let me off very lightly, for which I am truly grateful (grovels magnificently :D). There were certain individuals who were expecting a public flogging at the very least, and were prepared to buy tickets for the event .

NSD today and as it is the last day:

    Lil_me Jan. Spend £202.12 - Budget £230.

Thanks for all your lovely posts people and see you on the February thread.

  • Mike D with the deliveries I often refuse to accept substitutions and the amount is just refunded to my account...you can send them back with the driver, who should point out to you anyway if there are any in your order. I've never had any hassle or fuss with it...

Oh also amazon have some reductions on home stuff today including breadmakers (though not superduper reductions but worthwhile if you're planning to buy one anyway). Worth a glance.
  • Well I came in under budget but I'm disappointed I didn't beat last month's actual spend, so I've reduced my budget for February. I'll be on Statutory Maternity Pay from May so we need to get our spend down as much as poss.

Lil_me: my final tally is £186.55. Thank you!
  • My final post on the January challenge as well. I've finally totalled up and, as predicted, I've gone over. However I underestimated how much I spent in December (thought I'd spent £400 - actually at least £500), and I'd used Dec total to set my Jan budget. I don't feel I've done too bad. Ant there's always next month to get to my target...

    Total for January £397.58 - budget £350

Thank you to everyone, I've found the support here really helpful and it's definately helped keep me on track! See you on the Feb thread.

Sorry I'm a bit late with my total:o

I came in at 64.27 so I'm quite happy with that. Still have tons of stuff in the cupboard and freezer though so really need to try and cut down on all that

Well done to all of you who managed to save pennies :)
