  • Hi, I'm in again.

As a lot of the stuff I regularly buy has gone up by incredible amounts   in the last few months, I am "upping" my budget for now, to see how I get on.

So, for January, I'm in for £225.

lil-me, if you are volunteering to record our totals again I would be really grateful, that would be brilliant, thanks very much

    Hello everybody :hello:

I'm cutting my January budget as I have pretty full store cupboards and freezer; So I'm going for £40 this month  of which about £20 will be for milk, cheese and eggs; the rest for fruit, veg. If I can, I'll replace at least some of what I use from stores but want to 'turn over' my stock iyswim.

    Fingers crossed now :D

Lil_me, yes please if you would do totals again. I'm going for £40 this month
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

    hello everyone...

I didn't manage to see it through in december, so here I go again.
I need to be strict this year as I have a few debts I want to get rid of. Put me down for £300 as it is a 5wk month for me...(£60pw)

Nothing is going to get better. It's not.
  • :rotfl: :A :j :A Last month I hoped to get away with £70 a week - actually managed £90. Hoping this month to do better and actually acheive £70 a week. The breadmaker arrived two weeks ago and have already saved £14 on bread and pizzas. Not only that the kids seem fuller on the home made bread and are no longer snackig between meals. Hopefully this and utter meaness will do the trick good luck everyone

I'm in for this too please. It's a five week month for me this month, so £150 for me please. We're two adults who eat normally and one 3 year old who isn't keen on food.

My Wife and I have been lurking and we're going to give this a go in January for the 2 of us plus 2 under 3's.

Not sure what our usually spend would be but our stretch target is going to be set at £200 for the 4 weeks commencing tomorrow. I'm off to Asda and the farmers market in the morning to [hopefully] make a good start.

  • Hi

Could I join? We're 2 adults, 2 kids & 2 Rabbits. I used to spend £480+ on food each month, but with the help of this board have reduced it by about £200!!! However its been creeping up again so I thought I would join this challenge to keep focused!

I would like to stick to £250.00 for January as I have quite a lot in.

I will start on 1st Jan.

Ooooops just realised its 5 wk month! Oh well we'll see how it goes!!

"Everyone in for a totals list again? Just on doing some editing of the last one now, will put it in this post if people want that doing again".

Yes please, Lil-me, but can you wait until next week as my month doesn't end until Jan 2nd!

    Thanks

    Hello,

It's been far too long since I was on this board, :o .

I know that I need to get more in control of menu planning and grocery shopping so here I am again. For January I plan on spending £25 per week, and it's for myself and DH.
