I left Sainsburys today spending less than £25! I am so pleased. OK we had a £15 veg box tuesday as well - but that's good for me. Next Friday I'm going to Morrisons as have £50 savings stamps to spend there, so I am hoping this month will very under budget food wise. Off to menu plan now!Grocery challenge July £250

I had a fairly good day today - spent nothing, got my soap nuts and now have the washing on to try them out. Going to do a "tenner shop" tomorrow, so will update after that. Night allI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hi guys, it's been a while since I updated and I am frustrated to say I have lost track, completely. I know that I will come in over budget this month, but just not sure by how much.
I am really frustrated but won't let it get to me, so I'll see you back here for the February challenge. xxMFW

Tattycath did you mean soda crystals?
If you did i`m going to try mixing them half and half with bio soap powder for my washing.
I`ve been reading about the seal on my washing machine door as it keeps going mouldy and i was going to try using different things to wash the clothes in, i was going to try the soap nuts but i have now decided to get a small box of daz and some crystals, fingers crossed for good results.

Thanks Sunnyday. Yes I did mean soda crystals. I have just received my consignment of soapnuts yesterday. According to the bumf i got with it you can use soap nuts in the dishwasher-so I shall be giving that a whirl too!!! I'l report back and let you all know how I get on.(along with the load of other OSers who have bought some!!)GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Just spent another £9.39 on cereals, milk and bread in Tesco. It's amazing how expensive everything has become. Must get batch baking my bread and try and pull our belt in.
I'm interested to see how you all do with your soapnuts. Last year they sent me a sample free but I didn't really find them that good. Wondering if I didn't give them a fair trial. Will watch with interest how you all get on.

I had some great bargains at Morrisons last night:
2 meat and pot. pies=49p
4 chicken tikka legs=19p
1 garlic chicken breast=19p
4 garlic chicken legs=19p
4 chicken drumsticks=19p
A pork and bacon meatloaf(1LB)=19p
4 fresh breaded ocean basa=70p
salted cod fish=19p
TOTAL=£2.33 :j
I've popped in there at about 9-9.30 before and have had great bargains.
At that time of night they are flogging the stuff dirt cheap and I put some of it into the freezer and eat some that night. Its wonderful quality and soooo cheap!

Morning all!
Just done my food order, £29.61, yay!
Everything has been meticulously planned and so this should last us til the end of the month, which is fab. Today and tomorrow I'll be baking and cleaning-going to make some cheese scones, muffins and other stuff and make sure my soup is portioned up for the week.
