    I had a NSD today. :T
I do two small shops a week to top up on veg, milk etc. So, yesterday I spent £14.02:eek: . I buy eggs from the green grocer, as they are £1.05 for six free range. Cheaper then the supermarkets! :j

I decided  to get hubby some sandwhich meat from the shop too. We do not like the packaged stuff from the supermarket, they are to thin and yucky. But, never again am I buying from the local shop either. For two big slices of ham and two slices of corned beef, I had to pay £2.27:eek:
Me thinks, OH has to life of pilchers and tuna...... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I better go and find a decent flask for soups. DH says, the flasks we have do not keep the soup hot enough.
Does anyone can help me there?

Anyhow, of to search for some flights.....
I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!
  • Help! Now I've introduced DH to yellow stickers, he's addicted!!:eek: He's up at Mr T's 2 or 3 times a week bagging bargains..!! The problem is that it's mostly stuff we wouldn't otherwise buy so it might look like a bargain but it's still unnecessary expenditure. Oh well I suppose I should be glad he doesn't insist on Finest everything like his brother. And he has come back with proper food too, chicken, onions, cauliflower etc so it's not all bad! ;)

Hi all. I only took half a pound of minced beef out of freezer this am instead of 1lb ...oops!! so I had to make dinner for 4 of us tonight and have to admit I was struggling for ideas-despite having recipes and cook books to cobble dogs with!!! So I created a kind of spag bol with a difference. I used the half lb of minced beef, half a large onion, tomato puree, mushrooms, green beans (chopped) and to bulk it out I used... a pack of sage and onion stuffing & served with tagliatelle... And believe it or not it was delicious (well to 3 of us anyway!!!) so by and large I'd say it was a success. and I still managed not to spend anything coz I have frozen the mushrooms (tip from earlier in the thread) green beans were bought, blanched and frozen last month. So I'm a happy bunny...

oh bother, tesco order just placed and I couldn't resist the email voucher (addresseee only so no point sharing) for extra points but had to spend over £50. So I stocked up on nappies for DS (they dont' go off!) to £30 worth. That takes me over budget this month but..... I wont' have to buy nappies next month at all plus I'm very well stocked up!

Hi Halia. Just don't include the nappies in this months budget if you know you won't be using them til next month. Include them in next months budget. That's not cheating, it's just more cost effective to get them now iyswim Then you won't go over budget for the sake of free delivery

Well I've had three NSDs in a row but it turns out it's easy when you're too sick to leave the house :) This has been a pretty unpleasant dose, I'm used to colds where you have a runny nose and sore throat but this one left me feeling too rough to get out of bed. Or even to eat:eek: and let me tell you this is unheard of for me.

Snap belfastgirl :rotfl:I ended up on antibiotics and giving it to OH too :D
Hope you're feeling better now ;)

All in all a not too bad for us. The first week ill and this week back to work and catching up with this thread and a few others :rotfl:

Spends so far at the corner shop (blimey aren't they expensive  ) £23:52 :o This did include 2 boxes of Lemsip and a comic each for DS & DD to keep them amused while DH and I were on the sofa huddled up :D

Will have to go to Mr T's this weekend though as we've run out of some stockcupboard items so will update after.
