I have been in Boots yesterday, and spend more money then I wanted.
The baby milk I can only get in the big Boots in Malvern and then I always look around for more Bargains. DS1 nappies are £2 off so they are cheaper then Lidls! (Just!!!!!!) DS2 is in reusable ones, so no worries there.
Also, the replacable tops on Advent bottle are discounted from £2.50 for 2 to £0.63. Had to get them!
After I don't know how many attempts of bread making, I seem to have the knack for it now. :j Done three breads by hand and they were all fine. :T :T :T
Can anyone tell me, where Morrisons reduction areas are? Seem to never find bargains in there......
Happy is happy to have tuna for the next few daysso don't need to go shopping until Monday!
Well done everyone so far.
EgonI wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -
Hi egon
If i remember rightly -the last time i went to morrisons -the reductions were kept on the cheese/cooked meat alley..and tinned, packets were on the tinned fruit/fruit juice aisle
Haven't been for a while but thats where they were-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hi everyone:hello:
I've had a good week again spending only £36.08 of my £50 limit.
I've made a conscious effort to stock up a little bit each week rather than run everything down and only buy whay we need. Aldi had fresh lamb chops marked down (£1.50 for 4 chops) which i didn't need but I bought a couple of packs and some pork chops to go in the freezer because you can guarantee the week the freezer is totally empty will be the week that we are also totally skint. They also had small cabbages and salad potatoes for only 39p a pack (also tomatoes, pears and cucumber for the same price if anyone wants any)
I made sure I had a pen and paper with me too so that I wrote down what I spent rather than just throwing in my trolley what i fancied and kept my eyes well away from the non food stuff (which knocked a good £20 off what I would normally spend)
Anyway enough of me congratulating myself. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Saw Martin and the soap nuts but if anyone said where they are obtainable I missed it. please nykmedia who stocks them ? have you tried them?? do they really work??I was told nearly 40 years ago by the man who serviced my twin tub (remember twin tubs?) to dissolve a heaped tablespoonful of washing soda (now called soda crystals) and add to detergent and use about half amount of detergent suggested on pack/bottle.Have done so ever since. get a really clean wash and have never needed fabric softener. Thanks for any info nykmedia, Erin
I used to have a twin tub!! It was great fun! Used to turn on the hose to fill it whilst running out to the barn to collect eggs. One day I got side tracked checking the foals and came back into the porch to find my dog perched on a chair surrounded by a pond that was fast becoming a river when I opened the back door!! That was the bad thing about twintubs - no autofill! :rotfl:
I still use washing soda in my washing machine (automatic) now, and vinegar! Can't remember the last time I ever bought fabric softener but I do have Bold Liquid because Somerfield had it on a BOGOF in November/December and I bought 3 lots
PS: That was the same web address provided by the OP that I used for ordering my soap nuts.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Dairylea Cheese Spread on offer this week at Co-op for 67p per tub or as a BOGOF
My spend to date hasn't changed. Tonight we just had homemade chicken soup forllowed by cake & custard. I make milk puddings with powdered milk so they are less fattening and it means I'm not using up all the fresh milk.
Just read the post about freezing mushrooms - that is really handy to know! I'm going to embark on a veggie stock-up of the freezer whenever I get the chance and have now stopped buying pre-packed potatoes in favour of buying local potatoes loose - shop is within walking distance so I can buy what I need as I need them until I get more growing in the garden
Last night's dinner, I forgot to add, was a use-up-whatever type meal. I had a small jar of salsa dip that had been opened and stuck in the fridge so I boiled up some pasta, added a tin of chopped tomatoes and the salsa sauce, grated a little cheese over it and served it as spicy pasta; made some weird name up and told them it originated from an Italian bloke who holidayed in Mexico where he met his bride and had to compromise on the cooking to suit both tastes:rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

Doing pretty well but feeling the need to try and cook from current storecupboard ingredients for a week. Decided daughter's birthday cake stuff (nutella, and other expensive stuff) is going on the treats list not the grocery list, have discovered spendingdiary.com and suddenly am having to tell everyone about it cos pretty impressed!
So so far I have spent £132.03 out of a £250 budget for five weeks. Not too bad even though we haven't quite reached the halfway point in the month. Big Mr T shop at start of month was bound to tip the balance toward the start of the month though.IAAR/IAAMM/MFTMFAQ/IOA6BH0 -
