Went to Asda this morning (4am) and spent £13.42... though £3.88 of that was for the friend who took me. Apart from forgetting a couple of items which I'll get next week I should now have enough food in to last the rest of the month. I probably won't make my £50 target this month but shouldn't be too much over.

I was planning a quick trip out this afternoon for milk and a couple of other bits but as its snowing here I wont be going anywhere  luckily I have plenty of stocks in and its good for my bank balance I suppose. I'm getting a bit fed up now though, getting cabin fever because I havent been out since Dec 28th!! :D

Hello everybody, I haven't had time to catch up with all the posts today, will do that later. Have spent the grand total of £1 today (45p local potatoes and 55p for bottle of white vinegar). Signature updated, catch up with you all tonight :)

Saw Martin and the soap nuts but if anyone said where they are obtainable I missed it. please nykmedia who stocks them ? have you tried them?? do they really work??I was told nearly 40 years ago by the man who serviced my twin tub (remember twin tubs?) to dissolve a heaped tablespoonful of washing soda (now called soda crystals) and add to detergent and use about half amount of detergent suggested on pack/bottle.Have done so ever since. get a really clean wash and have never needed fabric softener. Thanks for any info nykmedia, Erin

hiya everyone. done really well this week, not done a "big" shop, but just got bit of fresh stuff once during the week and have been living off what we already had in
so really pleased with myself this week. the main reason we didnt do a shop was cos when we got back from holiday last saturday we didnt get any money from our second jobs cos wed been away, and this is the money wwe use for food etc, so we didnt really have a choice!

Don't know about the soft touch Rosie...would like to think that if one of mine was 32, new baby, father wanting DNA test, not much money, 8,000 miles from home, no clue how to budget or mend and make do, that some one would give her a boost...parents not prepared to help financially unless she goes home, lives with them and does what she is told until child is ready to go to school and she can get a job...oh yes there is the question of the bullying of a mixed race child at school...could you throw her out??

Sorry to be so off track...forgive me all, just not an emotionally good day

  • Hi everyone, I've just been enjoying catching up & reading all your posts :) Have had a good week so far, just spent £34.07 on groceries on Tuesday which I have added on to my total & haven't set foot in a shop for 3 days since which is a first for me! :D Have been doing lots of cooking using up leftovers & because I've been making double of everything the freezer is still nice & full :)
So far on my list for next week I only need a sack of potatoes, carrots, milk & eggs so I'm hoping for a very low spend next week too
Hope you all have a good weekend :)
