Hi, I need to ask a question. Let's say if I do get awarded PIP, will I need to let Universal Credit know on my journal to let them know that I have got PIP if I get it?
No.. PIP does not affect Universal Credit.

Try and distract yourself until that report turns up :)
Hi, Ok thank you for letting me know. Also, I am sorry if I keep asking questions, but when the decision maker looks at my claim to make a decision if I can get awarded PIP or not, does the person look at the form as well what I filled in online, or just the assessors report when I had my assessment over the phone?

If the person who makes the decision to not look at the form, then how is that fair? and would have been a waste of my time filling it online.

Questions are fine... never be afraid to ask. The Decision Maker at the DWP should look at all evidence including the 'How your disability affects you' lengthy form before taking their decision.

However.... it seems reasonable to me to suggest they take short-cuts and probably lack time to do this properly. It is likely they heavily rely on the assessor's report as the assessor themselves should have looked at all the evidence too and the DWP DMs tend to take a line that the assessor's report  is both specific to the PIP criteria and recent evidence. It is highly likely that the decision will reflect precisely the assessor's report including on length of award (+12 months review period added) but not always.... and it is true that in some cases there is no assessor's report... sometimes not even a paper based (i.e. doesn't directly involve the claimant) assessment report.

The completion of the form... I'm pleased you were able to do this online as historically there was no such option... that form is vitally important as 1) The assessor will heavily rely on it as a basis for their assessment 2) the DWP DM could rely on it for decision 3) If you challenge the decision of the DWP then it will be important evidence (especially for an appeal tribunal I suggest) 4) It is useful information (if you keep a copy) for any future review of a PIP award as you may repeat a lot of the same information on a similar form.

Update: I got my assessors report in the post, but I am confused, I don't know if this is good or bad? going from this, do you think I got my PIP declined? Also, I edited/crop my personal details out.

    I disagree.

You should tell UC, through your journal, if you are awarded PIP.

In some cases it will increase your award.

Jack.... you should have as your bible the PIP activities and descriptors plus the points they're worth... this should have been the basis for you to argue what disabilities are relevant to you... so you should now be adding up the points for Daily Living and Mobility activities....

But let me see.... here we go...

This is very good news for you in terms of report (although not in terms of disablements as you clearly struggle a lot)

You score 14 points for Daily Living which would be enhanced award
You score 14 points for Mobility which would be enhanced award
(Can someone double check for me as I'm dealing with a few issues at the moment here)

The Award of Mobility 1E (Activity 11) would also enable you to automatically qualify for a blue badge if you apply for one.

This is not the decision but I suspect you can expect very good news in coming days or weeks. The report should also say how long they recommend before you are next reviewed.. if so usually the award is for that length of time plus 12 months.

    Calculations:

    Daily Living
1d. Needs prompting to be able to either prepare or cook a simple meal. (2 points)
4c. Needs supervision or prompting to be able to wash or bathe. (2 points)
5b. Needs to use an aid or appliance to be able to manage toilet needs or incontinence. (2 points)
6c. Needs either - (i) prompting to be able to dress, undress or determine appropriate circumstances for remaining clothed; or (ii) prompting or assistance to be able to select appropriate clothing. (2 points)
9c. Needs social support to be able to engage with other people. (4 points)
10b. Needs prompting or assistance to be able to make complex budgeting decisions. (2 points)

    Mobility
11e. Cannot undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant. (10 points)
12b. Can stand and then move more than 50 metres but no more than 200 metres, either aided or unaided. (4 points)

Hi, I just want to say thank you very much for all your help doing this for me and if this looks promising, I am so relief and happy :)

Definitely hope it has eased your anxieties.. I haven't looked carefully at the report but it does indeed look like the assessor really did listen and take seriously what you told them. You of course may not agree with everything in the report (people rarely do) but as a basis for getting an award (And by the looks of it a maximum award!) it is incredibly helpful. Note - you asked about the value of the form (PIP2) - the assessor references it for every activity and it looks like you did a good job filling it in. Do try to relax.... you've done all you can... you will get a Decision Letter in due course.

And as above... if you do get awarded PIP it may be worth just tipping Universal Credit off in your journal.

Thank you and yes, it has eased my anxieties. I asked another forum and the person said going from this, I have passed both daily living and mobility, does that look correct to you?

Youve been given prompting in some areas but not others, however if Muttleythefrogs maths is correct and youve been awarded enhanced in both areas, then there is little to complain about as doing so would not increase the award.  If this is correct and the DM agrees then the only other variant is the length of the award.
