What is the most expensive house currently on sale within 5 miles of yourself?

Ok, probably a bit more than 5 miles away, even as the crow flies, but I can see it as a wee white blob on the coastline from my window.
A snip at half the previous asking price.
And such a happy history.

That’s the second largest house in London, after Buckingham Palace, and Witanhurst is in far better condition.

6.5 million but no I wouldn't buy as location is pants, far too close to the city0

£12 million - I drive past it on my way to work (won't give the location away - NOT London - but work is in west London) and I would not buy it - it's stunning, but not for me!
In the landing photo below, I can peek through those first floor windows from my car - £12 million to live on a rather busy commuter road is a bit too much compromise.
It is also very much a family house and as a single person, it'd be a bit much! But if I had a family (and the money), life in this area would be absolutely ideal. Quintessential southern England rich life.

I am surprised there is nothing for more than 4 million at present - last time I looked there was one that had been not selling at £60 million for years. None that I covet at present, though there is one for 3 million further away that I could be tempted by...
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

18th century farmhouse (much extended and "updated") for 3 million. Tennis court and gym but no pool. Lots of massive bedrooms. I don't see the attraction of massive bedrooms. Beds can only get so big so what do you do with all the floor space?0

£4m, and no I wouldn't, it's just not to my taste at all (architecture as much as decor).
The first one I could have been tempted by is £1.65m. Compared to the £4m one, it has half as much house and twice as much land, but what it does have is much nicer in my opinion.Never take a stranger's advice. Never let a friend fool you twice.0 -
