With a Claim Issue Date of 9th September, you have until Monday 30th September to file an Acknowledgment of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 14th October 2024 to file a Defence. That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.4 -
Thank you all for the advice, which I am getting on with.
Just to check, does it matter that I never received a formal LBC, and went straight to court claim pack? Does that mean anything? There are 2 things you deal with inside the next 6 years
A formal LBC that precedes a court claim, usually from a legal firm, or the claimant ( not powerless debt collectors. )
A court claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL
Meanwhile you keep trying plan A,0 -

If queried, I'm sure they would say "well we sent it. Royal Mail failed to deliver it".4 -

No that's normal but you've got some YEARS old results there! That's not how to search this forum. Clearly when you search you must change it to show NEWEST. Then you see the recent (relevant) stuff first.
I want to encourage you to sit down and read the first ten or so NEWEST results and you'll find threads with a decent defence extra point about them adding £25 that wasn't on the signs.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Many thanks @KeithP and @Coupon-mad.
AoS submitted. Currently working on the Defence.
Please can I ask - what is the reason/recommendation for NOT filing Defence via MCOL please?0 -

It is also reported that MCOL has a tendency to destroy formatting, thus presenting a Judge with a 'less than optimum' document.5
