Please be aware that this has taken a qualified carpenter four full days so far to erect and during these four full days he has encountered the following problems.

    1. He has asked the question as to if the shed has been made using pallets as he has quote "never seen such a pile of !!!! in all of his life!" the quality and built is shocking the quality of pallets!.
    2. The floor for which we paid and additional cost and chose the top of the range one does not fit together. He has had to plane to make it fit.
    3. None of the panels match up and even when they did after lots of adjustments the 90 screws (of which there were not 90) are just not enough even according to your instructions.
    4. The roof is too small and he has had to extend the roof using additional timber.
    5. The size walls were so short that you could not have stood up inside the shed so again he has used his own timber (for which I have paid) to build up the sides.
    6. The doors do not fit and again he will need to plane them, (these have not been fitted.)
    7. The beading for the glazing is the wrong length.
    8. Three of the plastic glazing panels were damaged and will need to be replaced (again I will have to pay)
    9. The corner cloaking attachments do not fit together correctly at the top of the shed and there are not enough of them
    10. The lock does not fit the shed, it is too big.
    11. The padlock bracket does not fit on the shed
    12. There were not enough cloaking strips
13 The pins sent for the glazing are too long to fit the door glazing!!!
    14. The is what looks like concrete spilt onto the wood
    15. Even with extra reenforcement that my builder has put in, it is very flimsy.
    Seems from Mr Stephen Sparrow:
No one has ever complained before (lies)
Because I did not have the shed put up with in a one month window (in the winter) I have not a leg to stand on and any problems with putting this !!!! shed together is down to my builder who is a trained carpenter.
The missing items should've been reported earlier (so I should've known that the 90 screws were not going to be enough!)
I should've seen that the plastic panels were damaged.
I should've been able to predict that the floor, roof and door locks would not fit.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS AWFUL EXPERIENCE SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GARDEN CENTRES WHO DON'T SELL BILLY OH SHEDS/SUMMERHOUSES.

  • My experience is that their Product Support Team seems unwilling/ incapable of supporting their products.

I was fobbed off too. I contacted them regarding a BillyOh Shed that was showing signs of deformation after a few months. One of their excuses was false (but was cleared up once I submitted evidence to the contrary) however I am now stuck. Apparently a Hawklok Plastic Support Base Kit on a flat surface is no use and concrete, pathing slabs or timber bearers are the only options. Now I see that their website advises it but in no way states that it has to be the case in order for the warranty to remain valid.

So apparently its all my fault and I may have voided my warranty. And they are not answering emails any more.

Shame as my initial email was asking for ADVICE not demanding a refund.

I intend to stay clear of Kybotech/ Garden Buildings Direct/ BillyOh products in future.
  • Ordered a 12x6 shed from Gardenbuildingsdirect and received order confirmation from Kybotech. What I got was a 12x6 floor and sufficient bearers for a 12x6 shed but the shed panels were for a 10 x 6. Spoke to customer services who gave me the option of waiting for the correct panels or settling for 10 x 6. I chose the latter since the erectors were on site and were costing me £280 a day. I would have had to pay this again if I had waited.Customer Services said someone would call to discuss compensation. They did not, I got an email saying they had credited me with £30 (the difference in cost of the two sheds). No recognition of the fact that I had paid for larger floor than was required, had extra bearers I did not need, or that I had had a concrete base constructed that was 2 ft larger than necessary.Worst of all, no apology and no recognition of the inconvenience and disappointment. The shed is very poor quality, the roof trusses were missing, the panels are riddled with knot holes and one is split and mouldy. I think the erectors were ashamed to put it up. Avoid like the plague.
  • Have recently had dealings with Kybotech, I thought it was worth mentioning my experience of them, which doesn't seem to be as bad as some of the other posters.

    btw - I'm just a punter, I don't work for them!

I ordered a playhouse from gardenbuildingsdirect and expected delivery within 5-10 working days.
I received the usual number of emails stating my order was being prepared for delivery etc and I started to worry that I wouldn't get it delivered in time for my hubs to build (he'd taken the week off work).

At this point I googled them and saw the reviews and panicked. I was on the verge of cancelling my order (2 weeks after placing) when hubs called to say someone had delivered the playhouse round the back of our house. Well I had been told I'd receive a call from the delivery team and a time would be arranged for delivery - that didn't happen. This worked out OK for me but I can see it would be a real pain for others.

Anyhow, all the parts were included, my hubs built the playhouse no problem. He said the wood wasn't the best quality, but then I'd paid pretty much the lowest price I could for the playhouse, so I suppose I got what I paid for in this respect.

Overall, I was pleased with the service, although I wouldn't buy from them again. Too many bad reviews, I think I was reasonably lucky my product even arrived!!

I fear I may be the next victim of Kybotech. Ordered the Mad Dash Annex Log Cabin for my son and daughters joint birthday presents along with all the money they received from grans, aunts and uncles. I ordered it 5 weeks ago and was told 7-10 days for delivery. I have had 6 separate emails confirmations over a 4 week period to tell me the goods had been dispatched but every time I call they tell me that is not the case and make up a different excuse each time (problems with local hub in your area, delay in manufacturing etc etc). I was going to stick it out as the kids really liked the look of this one and cant seem to get it anywhere else but having paid so much for this (compared to what other kids playhouses cost) I was banking on it being really good quality and these posts make me think its not the case. I am going to contact my credit card company to get a refund as this apparently is worse for Kybotech credit rating and gives me more chance of getting my money back. I have honestly never had such a bad retail experience, the customer service is appalling!!....first time I have taken the time to write a review (good or bad) on anything which having internet shopped for 10+ years shows just how bad this lot are!!!!!!!

We too have been very badly treated by this company

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY

We ordered 2 sheds at the end of February quoted 10 working days delivery.

IT IS NOW MAY AND WE DO NOT EVEN HAVE 1 COMPLETE SHED LET ALONE TWO!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not think you are saving money - You are throwing it away!

I too have contacted my credit card company for a refund.

    A complete joke.

The last contact I had was 21st April. They said if we gave them a list of missing parts they would send out overnight on Monday for delivery Tuesday. Once I had finished listing missing items he told me there were too many to send overnight and they would try for the end of the week. When I started ranting about having to wait longer because I had received the worst service and now had to wait until Friday he replied "Oh you won't get it by Friday" WELL WHAT THE HELL IS THE END OF THE WEEK THEN??????

It is now nearly 2 weeks later and still no missing parts!

This is the second complaint about missing parts my first was promised "as soon as humanly possible" WHAT A JOKE!

Don't risk it It is just too stressful
  • As you probably know, your credit card co will try and wriggle out but do not give up. Go to the Financial Ombudsman. I am in the same position after their appalling service. I have a shed which is the wrong size and looks as though it has been riddled with machine gun fire. Made by Billyho should be BillyOMG.

Oh no, I think I am the latest victim of Kybotech :(

I paid for my shed almost a month ago now and I still do not have a product fit for use.

May I add, when i ordered the shed originally i was told it was going to be 5-10 days delivery - meaning it should have been delivered by 26th April. I have no complaints about the communication i was given before delivery, in fact it was excellent but since delivery, I am getting more and more frustrated.

On the morning of 30th April, i left for a short holiday, during that morning there was a voicemail left on my home phone (which i obviously did not get until i returned on Thursday 3rd May) - the voicemail said they were going to deliver the shed the following day, he asked we ring him back to confirm. Obviously we did not ring him back and therefore this should be deemed as unconfirmed. Yet the shed (or at least part of it) was still delivered the next day.

I have a secure back garden with a rimlock on the gate so nobody can get in, yet they still were able to manage to get the shed into the back garden, this meant they either climbed over the fence or dropped the shed over the fence. The advice note i have is signed by a J hopkins, there is nobody in this neighbourhood of that name so not sure where they got the signature from.

My son was at home that evening and confirmed a shed had been delivered but it did not look like it was all there. Upon our return on Thursday 3rd we checked the same and certainly enough there was pack 1 of 3 and pack 3 of 3 - NO PACK 2 OF 3.

I have sent several emails but they have ignored the last 3 and now i am at a loss as to what to do as i cannot afford a shed elsewhere and feel i have to put this down to a bad experience.
  • I wish i had never come across this company, they are the worst company i have ever had the misfortune to deal with,i ordered my shed on the 16th of april it finally got delivered on the 17th may and this was only after chasing them for days on end(i kept getting told lies by them) and then it was so badly made it looked like it had been put together by a someone with a blindfold on,so again its on to the phone get told we will send replacement wood to replace the damaged parts to which i said no you can replace the panel after all if i wanted to build a shed i would, they agreed to send new panels well after a week of waiting for the new panels i had had enough again no delivery date so i cancalled the order told them to come and pick it up,well its over a week and still no sign of them collecting it.In short please avoid this company do as i have visit your local shed/garden centre yes you will pay more but you will not mucked around,i wish i had come across this thread before i had ordered from them.

We have ordered a gas barbecue from the Kybotech website Flaming Barbecues. I wish I had seen these posts before ordering..

Ordered the barbecue midday on Monday with "Free Next Day Delivery" upgrade in the Spring Sale. Checked the Order Tracking - which showed "Processing/Despatched". Thought (stupidly) that this means that it is on its way.

    Waited in Tuesday. No barbecue.

Well, I'm reasonable. We did order at 20 past 12. Maybe it missed the noon cutoff for Next Day.

    Waited in Wednesday, no Barbecue.

Wednesday afternoon. Email from them to say your order has been sent to the warehouse ready for despatch.! (next day Delivery my buttocks!)

    Waited in Thursday, no Barbecue.

At 6pm phoned the company, spending an hour on their premium rate (I now realise) phone line to be told it is out for delivery today before 7pm. There have been delays and, if not, it will be delivered on Friday.

    Waited in Friday. No barbecue.

It is now Saturday and I have just been to the websites' main page which has a jolly sign saying that their couriers are no longer delivering on Saturdays. So no chance of seeing the damn barbecue before the middle of next week now. I have emailed them again to ask that if it HAS been despatched (I am assuming that it hasn't) could they provide me with the courier's consignment number so that we can deal with them directly.
I am not expecting a reply. Or a barbecue.
