Two cakes baking in the oven to use up some 'too good to go' bananas; Biscoff Banana Bread because DD sent me the link and my go-to fat-free Banana Loaf recipe with sultanas substituted for chocolate chips, so I won't eat that - the dietitians dept at the big hospital in Steel City are in for a treat tomorrow.
Bit of WUALTD done (including my vintage Tala measure which has a US cups scale) and the rest in the DW.
Got a bargain at Mr M - 100ml cans of 3-in1 oil 45p. Lady in front of me at the till was buying 3 which piqued my interest (for I am a nosy cow) so I asked if they were on offer. Brought 3 to the till as the cashier seemed to want one - she did.

Good afternoon 😊
I'm sorry I haven't posted this week. I have been busy ticking bits off my list one job at a time. Little & often is good for me 👍 I have managed to clear some work admin over the last few days as the little ones have been sleeping. Another easy day tomorrow with just one very well behaved 2 yr old all day 😀
I need to message the plumber as the boiler appears to be dripping. It has only been the last couple of days, but I couldn't work out why the sink has a big orange mark on it 🤷♀️ I then saw a drip this morning and the penny dropped! I am hoping it is not a symptom of something serious 😬 We have already had a LOT of car expenses this month so could do without anything else!!
I also need to phone the car service plan company & complain to them, and cancel the policy.
Flying today has consisted of putting on the DW, WMx1 washed & dried, lots of toys picked up. I am going to prep some dinner in a mo. I may do some more admin this evening, and definitely some more knitting.
Hugs to those that need them. Round I hope you get to the bottom of the matter re your health records. YL I hope your work issues have calmed down now. Pigpen congratulations to OH re his new job.8 -
Argh... this site is driving me mad.. I am having to restart the laptop if I want to refresh the page.. so annoying..Thomas has ventured in here to look out of the window for the first time since he came here. My .5 cat has hurt his foot so we are looking at a vet trip for him.My bones hurt, I am freezing, Squeak is at MT the next 3 days.. pixie has a concert thing tomorrow.
SEN caseworker is going in the bin.. honestly she is an absolute pain in the derriere!!! She is trying to finalise the plan but it is not fit for purpose and I am saying no.. and school is saying no.. it doesn't meet her needs. She has been offered a place at the SEN school.. so we need to arrange a visit or 2 there. I want to go without her the first time and will take her if I think it is suitable. We have not heard from the other school.
I have 2 booked in for breakfast club next week and 1 being dropped off early, the ESP said she will meet her at 8:30.. so we may have sorted those times.. kind of..
OH said thnk you for the fly-vibes and good wishes.. he is super nervous but excited and looking forward to Monday!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
I have two intrays, and one was bottomed today. Very happy with that. Still masses to do to clear the backlog, but that's huge progress. I have the cordless thing in my office and I'm about to use it until the battery runs out on the Shelves of Doom.Walked to the Foodbank earlier to pick up some paperwork because I'm seeing the volunteer who still has to shield tomorrow and she does some work at home, so while I'm there having lunch with her and the manager who retired last year I can drop the work off. I'm not getting fit enough fast enough and it's driving me mad.Round, I know you work for the NHS but not whether it's in a hospital with a complaints procedure or a GP's surgery - and I don't need to know - but there should be a formal complaints procedure which might be worth considering using. (I used to manage the complaints department in a big NHS hospital and your situation is one that we had to deal with occasionally. Nosy new members of staff were usually the culprit: a mix of ignorance, bad manners, stupidity and whatever else you want to call it, never mind the confidentiality angle and always a disciplinary matter. You may never be told who it was, either, because of their right to confidentiality.)CoG - I second/third ASB's comments. I think what you're doing is amazing.Better is good enough.7

CofG you are incredibly kind, and wise. I am glad you enjoyed your visit to Victoria Street even if seeing the office workers made you feel a little sad x
Thanks for the hug ASB and Iona. Much needed x
As for the work issue, well it's seems that my assistant forgot to send an important email so really the mistake is hers. I will protect her if I can but I can't lie about this, so I have said that we will wait and see what happens. It could all be OK, or not.
Oh did I say we have had the auditors in too? What a week!8 -
Thanks for hugs here too.
- This morning I managed a bit of winter honeysuckle-trimming with the new trimmer. Fun!
- went to Pilates
- had a series of emails with manager about the latest student; we are having a Teams meeting on Monday so I can get advice on how to phrase all the unwelcome news about student's skills.
- drumming lesson
- picked up a few things in Mr T as I came through.
- went for lake swim with swim buddy at 5.30; eek chillier than we expected outside but at least it was earlier than the moonlight swim.
- did a bit more of spreadsheet preparation for tax return.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
very impressed with biscoff banana loaf…i really didn’t expect to like it! Choc banana cake packed up for the dietitians.

Thanks ASB, Ionafan, Honey_Bear and Yorkshirelass.Ionafan, well done on getting a reduction and also your compensation - a real MS day for you! I finally won the battle with Royal Mail (after two months and lots of e-mails) for their failure to deliver in time 2 SD items I'd sent. It took a lot of perseverance but yesterday I received a cheque for the refund. It's not a fortune of course but it was the principle - especially when they made out they had attempted to deliver them the next day when I knew for a fact they hadn't.Piggers, that all sounds very stressful - sending spoons. Great that your OH is so excited about his new job.Valli - your dieticians are very lucky! Glad you enjoyed the biscoff banana loaf - it sounds really nice.I've been quite active on the flying front today. This morning I went out for A's paper and for a walk and to take a loaf of cheese bread to a friend at the end of the road. When I came back I cleaned the kitchen, including bleaching the sink and washing-up pad, zipped around with the vac and got the shirts read for the laundry. I went to the 12.15 service and when I came back I made lunch and washed up and put away the lunch and breakfast things. I did two loads of washing and 3 of TDing (one more to go) and put some things on the rack to dry overnight. After saying a few days ago that he wanted to stop the eye drops A randomly decided that he wanted some this afternoon, so did that. I did A's tea and biscuits and then returned a call to one friend who wasn't in and to another who was. I rang another friend who is recovering from an operation to see how he is. I made supper and washed up and now it's just set-up A's breakfast things, take out the last of the TDing and put it away, clean my teeth and go to bed.Oh, when washing up after tea somehow a cup flew out of my hand and ended on the floor, in several pieces. That's the third thing I've broken in a week - I normally hardly ever break anything. I managed to find a replacement for my glass on e-bay (the same glass but second-hand so not too expensive) and I've found 3 sellers with the same cups as our set but annoyingly they haven't put the dimensions on the listing, and there are at least 3 different sizes, so I've had to send them all a message. Hopefully at least one will be correct size (I hope it's not the one that's 6 cups but also six saucers and six tea plates.
)
Sleep well everyone.7 -
Morning allYL - it will all be okay lovely, because these things always do work out ok. Remember the saying - in a year’s time, will I even remember this? Probably not. Head high, and I am keeping everything crossed for DH PIP.
It’s -2 outside! I’ve just fed the hens, will it ever warm up?! Paid stuff, an appointment this morning, need to prep tea etc. Early nights all round because we are going car booting tomorrow (buying), season officially starts and I can’t wait! I have a list of items we do need so will keep my eyes peeled.
Cuppa time now have fab days all xx8 -
Morning all xx
Thank you HB. Long story short (was that a collective sigh of relief?🤣) I contacted the Data Protection Officer and there's going to be a full audit and investigation, and I will be kept updated. It may be a simple error on someone's part. I really hope it is.
P's bloods are improving. And he'll get the biopsy results when he sees the consultant on 14th May. To me that indicates they haven't found anything sinister... or is that wishful thinking?
Anyhoo. It's Friyayyyyyy again. I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast and supped a brew.
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off.
When I opened the LR curtains this morning there was an explosion of finches from either the bird bath or lawn. I apologised to them of course.
Have a good day. I can smell the weekend...if I stand on tiptoe, close my eyes and sniff.
