Cloth_of_Gold said:You're the second person I know who has felt unwell following the booster. We're having ours soon so I hope I don't have a repeat of the shingles vaccination reaction; probably not.I feel bleurgh after each C jab - I've had five so far and am laid low for 36 hours every time, can't eat, it feels worse than flu. I didn't feel anywhere near as bad with C itself which is kind of ironic. Still weighing up whether to get another one. Belovéd has been invited to have his sixth because he's over 70 which means I'll be getting a reminder to have one fairly soon too. The brand doesn't make any difference, I react badly to them all.Started the day with shifting boxes of gibble out of my RoD to sort, and also to start to make it habitable for the paying guest. Was well and truly getting stuck in when I received a text saying that the people who were due to stay next week won't be coming. I fear for the organisation they work for, so I can't be upset with them, and anyway I like both of them so I'm rather more concerned with them than I am about the lost revenue. Also, big relief that I don't have to do any more flying in the RoD itself, although it's been a useful exercise doing a bit every day over the past week or so and it's a lot better in there than it was this time last week. Four boxes of gibble thoroughly sorted, and two packs packed with stuff I need for next week's funeral / jolly. My aunt was 96 and had a good life; I think I'm allowed to enjoy a day walking/hiking in New Forest on the way home.Everything that could be rehomed elsewhere while I was sorting those four boxes was rehomed immediately so I didn't have a mound of stuff to deal with when I'd finished the boxes. That felt rather uplifting when I put the lids back on and put them back in the RoD.Better is good enough.8

Br another chilly swim. But swim buddy and I did 2 laps of the lake (our sponsored swim in June is equivalent to 3 laps) in an hour, so we're not worried about the distance .....depends how big the waves are!! I've got £560 in sponsor money so far, with others promised so I've got to go through with it. We enjoyed 2 hot drinks and chocolate (me) egg roll (C) afterwards.
Went to Mr L on the way home, oddly couldn't found my £1 coin in the car for the trolley (Mr N later admitted to filching it for something earlier in the week when he used the car) so grabbed one of the wheeled baskets. Then saw the bedding plants and grow bags on offer......ended up dragging round 2 wheeled baskets; one for garden stuff, one for food.
Turfed some of the pots out of the greenhouse; really shouldn't have patio pot/basket arrangements still indoors and I needed more room for seedlings. It isn't meant to be a cold night but it has rained yet again solidly for the last few hours so all the de-housed pots will have a shock.
Renewed a couple of library books online.
Did a tiny bit of a report.
Spent the evening watching Priscilla Queen of the Desert, singing along. Now going to check what I'm reading in church tomorrow just in case there are any hard words.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
My Da has everything offered and is permanently unwell.. and then he gets the illnesses anyway.. hes just greedy. I love reading medical research papers. I am profoundly pro-choice for almost everything, I wouldn't let someone tell me what I had/had not to do so I would not presume to tell others.. that said I have never had a vaccination in my life.. so no side effects here
.. I have more than enough of those from food! and horses lol. I am firmly of the belief that when your number is up no number of vaccinations, surgeries, magic wands, miracles or prayer circles are saving you, we can just hope for a painless, peaceful passing. Now I have made myself sound like a do-gooding nutty crunchy-mama type.. lol...
We have watched Squeak perform in wizard of Oz this evening, I did some knitting, the children ate pizza, Moomin is at work.. my house is quiet.. and a total bear pit.. I am hoping we can get the sofa to DS1's tomorrow and OH is going to mince DD1's grass..
I am doing as little as I can ge away with, this new job is going to keep me on my toes until we get into a routine and I am quite frankly not looking forward to it!

Hallooooo from a very wet Roundland. Not that it ever seems to be not raining these days!
I'm up, made my bed, completed Wordle and Connections, and supped my first brew.
CoG I saw that it was the Farmers Market and did wonder if your brother would be there. P & S usually have a look before it gets too busy. P was once snapped sampling an ostrich burger. Or was it kangaroo? 🤔 Ostrich I think.
Brew 2 and breakfast then I'll be back with a Round. Feeling more with-it today 😊

Morning all
Ohh Honey Bear that is a reaction. I felt ‘off’, that’s all. My arm still aches, but i’m fine.
We have rain here too, but I have dried what needs to be dried. The washload just done will be folded until tomorrow, and the DW has run, too.
Im off to the artisan market this morning, meeting my friends. I will also pop to Savers. I’m running out of vitamin D so must remember that.
Need to get mum’s tablets out for next week, too.
Bit of an odd thing…I was deleting emails when i came across an appointment one for the chiropodist. When i looked it was a reminder for an appointment in May. Not only do I have no recollection of making an appointment, it was for a day and time I would normally be at work. So I cancelled it but had I not spotted it I would have been charged. I am quite puzzled.
Hope everyone has a peaceful, restful day.

Morning all. Hope your Sunday has started ok.
Pouring with rain here so I've baked a cake. It's just out of the oven. Plans for today are clearing out the cupboard of doom, the big one! I need to make room in there to put the cot away as DGD2 is now also in a bed. The cot won't be needed again until quite a while after DGD3s arrival in August. There are books and CDs in the cupboard that have been in their box since we moved in 17 years ago.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Good morning 😊
I am home alone as the rest of the family have gone to the zoo! DH & DS are running the 10k stampede, & DD2, DSil & DS's GF are watching. They were late as the traffic was horrendous, but luckily the start was delayed (they hate being late, so I'm glad I wasn't there! 😂)
I am lazing about - it is Sunday after all! I have taken a cuppa & breakfast back to bed, and caught up on the thread.
Hugs to YL - I hope you take a few days off soon, for your MH.
Yesterday I did a lot of flying....at DD2'S flat. The renovations have just about finished (just 2 radiators to hang and the stair carpet to lay), so it was all hands on deck to clean the dust & put stuff back. I did the bathroom (totally new, so shined up lovely when the dust was removed) from top to bottom, including walls with a mop! The old bed was dismantled and new bed put together, lots of hoovering, dusting, washing down etc. Hopefully they will move back in from the in-laws next weekend (after new bedding has arrived, as the bed is bigger!) As a consequence, I didn't do anything at home except knitting! 😂
Today (when I drag myself out of bed!) I am going to concentrate on indoor jobs as we had a LOT of rain again last night so the allotment/garden will be too wet. I may potter in the (tiny) greenhouse though. I have a monitoring visit on Tues from a lady at the LA (work related), so I may need to check my admin is up to date & the kitchen is sparkly! I haven't had this one round before and hopefully she doesn't think she represents ofsted!!
Okay - time to shift my derriere & put some washing on!
Have a good day all!7 -
I'm busy doing nothing, except watching it rain, cuddling cats and wandering around the interent.I have sorted DW. kitchen floor and sides all clean.Off out with my cousin, her son and his wife later on, hopefully it will have blown all the wind through by then. All slabs have finally been picked up and gone, drive way spent of debris.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

We had a pleasant evening out last night with DH’s cousin. I drove home afterwards in the torrential rain which has only just stopped. Woken at 1am, mad dash to the bathroom, passed out twice on the way - I am blaming shellfish food poisoning as I felt fine up until then. No further details needed, suffice to say that the last 12 hours have been… interesting. I have just made it out of bed, showered and dressed, and I think that will be me done for the rest of the day.DH has cancelled the friends who were driving down for a walk and pub lunch today, which I feel guilty about but really can’t be helped. Of course, now DH has decided that he might be feeling unwell too…very supportive of him!
I am settled on the settee and think that it will be read a book day.8
