I have no grandbeasts this afternoon and next Monday is the last session.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
Post office doneMother of all storms has just been through here, it really is a case of batten down the hatches, but the sun is trying to come out. The wind is blowing at 25mph, and gusting at 37mph. (from my local weathercloud)Builders spoken to, asked to clear up some of their 'stuff' it is everywhere. It seems a skip is coming and they are waiting for that, still they don't get paid if I am not happy with the job and clering up, they only had 50% so far, but have done about 70% of the work, so the money is on my side.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hailing and blowing a gale here. Both kitchen and living room fires now lit, which delights the dogs! Leftover noodles for lunch. Emma Barnett no longer doing Womans Hour, I really like her so was disappointed to hear that today. More paid stuff now x7 -

No cotton wool pads or foam at this house so I've cut up a pant liner and padded my glasses' nose bridge and left ear piece with that. It's not pretty but Ahhhhh that's better. Thank you piggers xx

Right.. I AM moving..
I made appointments for OH to discuss buying a house or 2 to rent out when he gets the inheritance from his mother.. unlike his sister we will not drink ourselves to death with it! Financial advisor (Thursday) and mortgage advisor (Wednesday).. we shall be proactive! I think he wants to buy a house and start a gardening business and on his not busy days have a part time job or maybe a craft business and do craft fairs.. we shall see what happens.. I took him out a new 0% credit card last week so transferred that balance from his closed CC so he can save £15 interest a month on a CC he is trying to pay off.. he pays £20 and £15 is taken in interest! ... madness.. And when that one ends, I will find another!
I am reducing my monthly mortgage payment by £90 as i said.. I will still be overpaying but I do NOT need to overpay by that much.. that is silly to leave myself short because I am paying moe than I can realistically afford. (I over pay 11 months of the year so I don't have to pay in December and can have a month of sale spending for next christmas.. and birthdays!)

Thank you for the new thread, Natty x
Welcome leftatthetrafficlights x
Well done to your DH, GI - and good luck with the car service x
Hope the school finds Squeak soon, pigpen x
Very sorry to hear of your nasty fall, round, and even more so that the BD has visited you today - hope you managed to confuse him with the "sausage" sandwich. The thought of you going round with a panty liner on your nose - so ingenious of you- has had me in stitches
xx
I am gradually getting used to not wearing any specs, though I still find myself looking round for them when I get up in the morning. My vision is a lot better since my surgeries, and as I was clearing the breakfast debris earlier, I spotted a little cobweb up under the cooker hood. I climbed on a stool to reach, glanced up to the top of the nearest wall unit door and thought "That looks dusty" so I wiped it. Yuck!!! One clean door showed up the dirt on its neighbour, so of course I ended up wiping all round the tops. However, if I continue shrinking at my current rate (the complete opposite to my DGC, who are all turning into giants), I won't be able to reach that high by this time next month, so I have warned DH that he will have to do it. Surprisingly, he has agreed.
I have rung the eight-legged energy company to cancel a payment on the 20th of this month, as I am switching on 17th to a fixed deal with another company who are planning to take a payment on or just after that date, and I don't want to be paying out to both in the same week. That's now sorted.
Rosie has gone out for her walk with L, and it looks as if they might be lucky enough to miss the heavy shower that is passing over to the west of us. Oh-oh, maybe I spoke too soon.... but there's more blue sky around than cloud atm.
I might get the bus into town this afternoon: I need to get some more lubricating eye drops of a particular sort, and the lovely local pharmacy don't stock them.
And I've made a rash promise to K to bake some scones for her. DH bought me a new NT recipe book on Saturday and is also waiting impatiently for me to use it!6 -
iona - 😊. It's much less painful if not the most fetching of looks 🤣
I need to buck up my ideas or there'll be nothing done today. I've watched Impossible and Doctors...my Monday treats.

Good afternoon 😊
Car picked up. I don't have any paperwork to say what they have done, so I shall phone them & ask them to email it to me. Car keys left with garage over the road so they can sort the car tomorrow - one less thing to do in morning ✔️ He will check what needs replacing and just deal with that. I am thinking of cancelling the service plan as it is clearly not worth it! They didn't even wash it (local dealership always did).
Food shop done, cushion covers washed & in the TD, LR vac'd thoroughly. 2 of the ladies coming tonight have cat allergies so I am trying to minimise their discomfort. I have recommended they take an AH before they come 👍 Downstairs toilet & basin cleaned. Have I got time to make spiced Apple Muffins......? 🤔 Probably!
We seem to have all the weather today! Blue skies, sunshine, wind, rain, hail, thunder & lightning!7 -

Filled up with diesel. Prescription item still not in stock - ermmm but you said it was coming in this afternoon, now you're saying tomorrow 🙄 I actually did roll my eyes. Not impressed. Luckily I'm not completely out of it.
Called in at Mr Al for bananas and cream crackers.....still no cream crackers in stock! Why? Is there a shortage? Anyhoo I bought rice cakes or was it oat cakes? One of the two.
I looked at cotton wool pads but decided it was more mse to stick with my current solution 😉

Towels washed, dried, put away; bed linen washed, dried, bed remade; all food cupboards emptied, thoroughly cleaned inside and out, cupboards rearranged and refilled; freezers emptied, cleaned and rearranged; fridge emptied, cleaned and rearranged; inventory completed of all food items in the house; kitchen recycling and general waste bins emptied and cleaned. Dinner made.
I'm absolutely exhausted!! I worked from 9.15am until 6.30pm with no breaks but it was worth it - my cupboards haven't been as sparkly since we first put them in!! 😂 It all feels very organised now and having a full inventory means that I can properly meal plan and save money - I'm going to do a new vegan storecupboard challenge once I've got the energy to type out the inventory for the thread!! 😵💫😂
Tomorrow I need to clear out and sort the drawers that hold the cutlery and utensils, the saucepans, the crockery and the cooking dishes - thankfully that won't take nearly as long 🙌 I also need to finish off clearing and sorting the understairs cupboard which will take around an hour - hopefully I'll have time to do Tuesday's deep clean list as the rest of the house is pretty much okay 😁DNF: £708.92/£1000
