Now that is where a EV is a win. Fills up while you are sleeping 🤣MattMattMattUK said:
I am not in a rush, however I do not see the point in wasting time doing something that can be done quicker and easier, with no additional effort.Iceweasel said:Why is everyone in such a hurry to refuel?
Surely you have things you would rather be doing than pointlessly queueing in a petrol station queue though?Iceweasel said:I'm a pensioner - I have all the time in the world - no need to rush at all.
Sadly these days to many petrol stations are also mini marts & people fill up then do a shop. So waiting at pumps is far longer than it should be.Life in the slow lane2 -
We don't have a morrisons with fuel and i use asda or tesco, but they only authorise how much is available, i.e. if i have £50 in my account they'll authorise £50 not the £100 they usually do. After fuelling they take that amount and the rest is immediately available in my account.cymruchris said:That's how pay at pump has worked for quite some time now - they pre-authorise an amount before letting you have fuel - even if you yourself only want a tenner.
Even a few days is too much to release the pre-authorisation, i'd say a few hours at most if no backend problems.0 -
Where I live the ASDA is the same, it tries to auth £120, not sure what it does if there is less as I have never not used a credit card.tifo said:

In general the pre-auth is released within minutes of the transaction being completed, but there can be issues and it can take longer, which is why the pumps have notices on them explaining that.tifo said:Even a few days is too much to release the pre-authorisation, i'd say a few hours at most if no backend problems.0 -
If there's less money in the account than the pre-authorisation then it authorises that balance.Where I live the ASDA is the same, it tries to auth £120, not sure what it does if there is less as I have never not used a credit card.0 -
Oh don't start me... "it's the first one" (can refer to at least four different pumps), "it's that one there" (waves vaguely), "it's number twelve" (we only have eight pumps), "it's the Ford"... "errrmmm"...Exodi said:or those who decide the best time to work out the pump number is at the point they're at the till being asked0 -
I filled up this last weekend at Morrisons. The hold for £120 is still there, 5 days later. Usually the hold is removed fairly quickly.MattMattMattUK said:

Not got a clue how the heck I question this with them and get it sorted. My bank suggests that it is down to Morrisons to sort.0 -

It will sort its self out, can take 28 days.
Never pay at pump with a debit card.

Should be ? Why does it have to be so quick, if there is a shop then everyone is free to fill and shop. We could take a leaf out of the US book where they fill and shop and stop for coffee and then lunch etcborn_again said:
