Back from our trip, we had a great time and had lots of snow :) I also kept within my budget :)

£110 sent to mortgage. Current balance -£186,350. Scared to look at my ISA balance as stock market crashing and I get nervous. I will just avoid looking so I don't stress about it.

I thought I would come here so I can read this later and check how life has turned out. Toxic person playing up again and this time with me. I sent a written complaint, but boss just excuses her behaviour saying she is frustrated because I am not doing some unpaid work they want me to do. I said I'm not doing it and we ended up having an argument and I just resigned. This was a stupid power battle but I just had enough of that place anyway. I have to work my notice and my last day is 17/04. I go from happy to scared to worried as I hate uncertainty but I was unhappy there for a while. It's not easy to give up such a good salary but it was draining my sanity, I will make it elsewhere. So mortgage OP on hold for the moment as I need to keep all cash until I can get back on my feet. I have 6 months of bills before having to touch my investments, but hopefully it won't come to that. I have started contacting people and agencies and have an interview on Thursday and another call interview today.

Well done on making the decision to get out of there, so many people (probably me included) would have just put up with their sh*t for an easy life at the expense of their own sanity.

Good luck with the job hunt, it sounds like you're off to a great start already 👍 x

Thank you. I have been putting up with it for a while, I kept thinking I can do another year. But the boss is starting to behave like his wife, I think to keep her happy as to be on the receiving end of her anger is no joke. I'm feeling positive for the future ahead but also still worried.

    Tasks for the week:
Contact local business about possible work
speak to an accountant about setting up a LTD company instead of being self employed as I believe it's better for tax purposes
    Contact more agencies
Ask husband to work on a website for me, he already started but I need to give him pictures and content

The telephone interview didn't go well as they needed some skills that I don't have it. But it was for a Saturday job anyway which I am not too keen on. I have prepared a list of questions to ask tomorrow as I don't want to start a job and be unhappy, I am not desperate so want to find the right place. I have also decided I will take at least a couple of weeks off before starting a new job and focus on my wellbeing.

I have started organizing my leaving do and invited lots of ex colleagues and they are all coming so I am happy. Most people leave there for the same reason and it's nice seeing people moving on and thriving. Not sure why I felt so trapped there for so long.

Interview today went well, I think they will offer me the job. They said it can be 3 or 4 days a week, so I think I will start with 3 and see how it goes, which leaves me free to find another job elsewhere. It's very close to my house, so no more commuting, I will probably cycle there. I also asked to start in May so I can have 2 weeks off, and she said no problem as they want to hire the right person.

I am meeting an ex colleague tomorrow for dinner and looking forward to seeing her and hearing how she is doing.

Today is my last day at my current job. It feels  a bit surreal to be leaving after 14 years at the same place. It has been very busy at work and I am looking forward to a break. Things are happening quite quickly and I found 2 jobs, one for 3 days and 1 day at another place which will be good I think as if I don't like one place I have the other as back up. I do have a good feeling about both places and I hope it goes well. I will now be self employed and I have already booked a meeting with an accountant about setting up a ltd company. I am also doing some courses to learn a few new skills that I will need for the new jobs. Both places have asked when I want to start and I said mid may, so I have a month break :)

I have paused my investments and mortgage OP for the moment. I still added money to the work pension. I also sent a small OP of £126.62 as it was just some interest and spare cash. Mortgage balance now is -£185,370.

I have done my self assessment and got 4k back, but I am holding on to all cash at the moment until money starts coming in again. I am also not sure how much my course will be yet, meeting someone this afternoon to discuss.

    Plans for my month break:
Declutter house (much needed, house is a mess at the moment)
Join the gym again, I will join one that has a sauna so I can enjoy that as well
Walk the dog 2x a day
Healthy eating, going on a detox diet for 2 weeks as I have not been very good due to stress
    Meditate everyday
    Enjoy my house and family
