I had a very busy and productive day at work yesterday, which is good as the main job is actually very quiet, that's the benefit of working in 2 different places. It was so hot though, sleeping has been a struggle.

I got a message from the cleaner yesterday saying she couldn't come, so I just sent the money to the mortgage, £45 OP. Mortgage now -£181,135. I still have some interest to receive from my ISA so will make another OP during the week.

I have been on a low carb diet for over a week and lost 2kg, I know it's mostly water retention but it's nice seeing the number on the scale going down :) I think I will do another week and go back to normal, just wanted a little quick boost as the weight seems harder to shift nowadays. I want to loose 4kg, not that much but I was feeling fat and bloated.
    Original mortgage 2016 -£310,500 Current balance Aug 25 -£179,611
    Total OP so far £1392.65/18,275.80
    Total OP 2025 £5815.88

I didn't realize I hadn't been for a while. End of July/ beginning of August was a real struggle. I think my hormones were all over the place, not sleeping, no energy for anything, sweating even in an air conditioned room. I completely stopped drinking coffee and alcohol and managed to get back to normality. I'm still waking up during the night but sleeping a bit better and this last week I managed to exercise 4 days, did yoga and meditation as well. I ma currently on HRT but at my last consult she changed the date for me to start the progesterone, I think that messed up a bit.

DS got his GCSEs results and he did well. He got 7x 8s,1x 7, 2x6s and 1x5. Not impressed with the 5 but he does not like English literature and always moaned about it. I had promised I would give him £100 for every 9 and £50 for every 8. He didn't get any 9s (which he got on the mocks), but still good and I gave him £350 as a reward for his hard work :)

Mortgage OP for August was £653.65. I also managed to add £1700 to my pension and £700 to my ISA.

Today we have a kitesurfing lesson. I was feeling guilty for not going on holiday this year and DS has not done much fun stuff so I booked a lesson for both of us. We are driving early and spending some time in the beach before going to our lesson, looking forward to it.

Thanks Ed, trying to do it all. It makes more sense to add to the pension as I'm higher rate and now Ltd company, but I try t balance with other savings as well.

We had a great day at the beach, even though kite lesson got cancelled last minute due to no wind :(. It happens unfortunately. We got home late due t London traffic on M25 and ordered pizzas and watched some tv together which was nice.

I slept really well and just having a decaf coffee before going for a run.
