Well folks, i've ruined my eating the past week. Just lost myself and this morning felt bad about it.

This morning though, it was time to get back on the wagon and actually today has been a good day.

    * Had two decent meals, fully tracked on myfitness pal & only slightly went over the 800 cals target.
    * Didn't get to exercise as sleep was quite broken last night but tomorrow will be getting up and out to clear the cobwebs off.

I did go on the scales this morning and basically was back to where I was on 1st Jan. So at least I didn't put on weight but I need to be more consistent and not let life put us off track.

One idea I did have to keep us on track was to start a gratitude poster. Thought I would write down 1 reason a day for focusing on the weight loss as I am struggling to make true progress. I would start, something would derail and progress lost. Has anyone done anything similar?

Have had another good day on the fasting plan. Although have felt a bit light headed so something need to keep an eye on.

@Queen_of_the_Hive, try and keep your fluids up on fasting days, I think it's meant to help your metabolism adjust.

I'm doing okayish. Definitely harder now I'm back at work, but I made it to DanceMums this week and have managed one walk at lunchtimes so far this week, along with a chair squats and hand weights session first thing this morning. The Gluc0se G0ddess hacks seem to be helping to stabilise my mood / mental acuity in the afternoons and I may have dropped a crumb of weight but not counting it as reliable until I have dropped 3 lbs ….😉

  • I have been so up and down and really struggling with balance and mood this month. Need to look at the wins, been at the gym 3 times every week and 1/2 days of slow running. Mood could also be much worse now I'm not controlling with medication and it's sunny today, January is nearly over and the brighter days are coming. We will get there everyone!

I think doing anything active, other than existing, this month is a win and as you say, brighter days are coming 😊🌞

Being back where you were at the beginning of January is good going Queen_of_the_Hive. I don't know about you but when it's cold and rainy I want bread and soup and stew instead of salad.

February is literally round the corner! Days will be getting longer from now on and hopefully getting lighter in the mornings too.

I've been swimming 3 mornings this week and been for a couple of lunchtime walks. I try and walk unless it is raining.

I find the hardest thing is keeping things sustainable and making it work for the long term. I've done the quick win diets and put it back on each time, plus a bit extra. This time is about making it work for me. That said I've just eaten a chocolate bar just because it's Friday 🤣

Stay strong everyone, we can do this 🏋️‍♀️

  • Morning @Tiggermad, thanks for your kind words. I do love soups and stews and as you say salads don't get eaten as much this time of the year. Food has been an emotional crutch and breaking these long term habits is not going to be easy.

Totally agree - making new diet patterns sustainable over the long term is really hard. I have done it before, but its finding the magic tool to keep it stick. Not sure if this will work for you but i've started writing out a daily motivational word or short phrase on post it notes. Thoughts being when I want to snack, consult the words and then see if its worth it. Only started on Monday.

Let us know how the motivational words on post-its go @Queen_of_the_Hive? 😊

I appear to have regained the two lbs that left last week … 🙄😂 But I am feeling a crumb slimmer and more than a crumb fitter and stronger. I shall continue to persist …

I made it to the gym today and managed to jog for a full five minutes! I did 3k overall and most of that was at a speedy fast walk but I jogged the last bit. Was super proud that my knee and foot held out and I was able to walk around the shops afterwards too with no pain! Most days this week I've done 6-10k steps..

Diet... 🙈 Seefood diet … hmm... I guess I've not eaten as many snacks as I was eating before Christmas. Does that count...? It's not going great however - my weight has stayed the same so I'm taking it as a win this is clearly my stable weight right now which I feel is too big but I'm debating whether I should just focus more on the gym, the waist slimming a little & thighs 🫣 and I think I'd be happy enough as on a good day I can get into a 12, bad day 14 is too tight. So I'd love to fit into all my clothes that I have already in these sizes which means toning up more than anything else. Or am I just making excuses 🫣🤣.
