Thanks for all your comments and concerns about A. This morning he said he felt somewhat better but then promptly went back to bed. He's up now though and has just grumbled at me for something so he can't be that bad!@ionafan I'm pleased you're eyes are doing well. The op and recovery period will soon be here and gone and then you can forget about it hopefully.@kiss_me_now9 I hope you can get the bathroom fitter sorted out - that is a real nuisance for you. On the plus side, you OH sounds, well, lovely!@pigpen hope you have a better day today.@Narc0lepsy yes, it was a shame we couldn't meet but, as you say, hopefully on a future occasion.A bit late with my list today (and Ive done some of it) but here goes.Tidy the dining table, which is a mess again (b/f from yesterday)Wash and sanitise my hairbrush (b/f from yesterday)WUPA A's breakfast thingsGo for a walkBuy and Easter egg for A and another person.Clean and tidy the last shelf on the bookcasePut away the Waitrose order when it arrivesGo and buy the wine for Easter.Send some emails/WhatsApps about something I'm organising.Take everything out of the hall cupboard and discard anything past its use-by date and put back everything else but tidily, not in the messy way it is now.

@pigpen those types are my favourite if I'm honest. I like a bit of fire!
@Cloth_of_Gold he is a wonderful man, I am so incredibly lucky to have him, even if his mild mannered laid back approach to life sometimes clashes with my own personality, which is basically do it all right now
* Dishwasher
* Hoover living room and bedroom/hallway (no point hoovering LOs room as it's full of bathroom stuff) Also washed the carpets with our carpet washer which was fun
* Counters
* Take scraps out to compost bin (this was more attractive an hour ago when it wasn't tipping it down)
* Make lasagne (I am out for a gym class this evening so will make this this morning and OH can heat it up when he gets in with LO)
* Edit and add voice over to the youtube video I made yesterday (another side hobby of mine at the moment)
* Two loads of washing 1 load in, 1 waiting
* Fold and put away dry washing Folded but waiting for other washing to dry before it goes away
* Clean bathrooms
Going to have a little 20 minute sit down and then do an hour or so of video editing with a cuppa before I start the lasagne and finish the rest of the tidying/cleaning.
My hope is that if I can really crack down on the housework now, we can maintain it with a few maintenance tasks every evening and then the 'bigger' tasks like hoovering can be done in half an hour on my day off/weekend.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January8 -

been to chiropodist - was looking for appointments and there was one today. I struggle to see my toenails now to cut them - and cut my toe the other week

@Valli I need to see the chiropodist too but mine is on holiday and I can't get an appointment until the second week of April and my feet are really starting to hurt now.Here's today's list:Tidy the dining table, which is a mess again (b/f from yesterday)Wash and sanitise my hairbrush (b/f from yesterday)WUPA A's breakfast thingsGo for a walkBuy an Easter egg for A and another person.Clean and tidy the last shelf on the bookcasePut away the Waitrose order when it arrivesGo and buy the wine for Easter.Send some emails/WhatsApps about something I'm organising.Take everything out of the hall cupboard and discard anything past its use-by date and put back everything else but tidily, not in the messy way it is now.It's a bit of a failure today I'm afraid but as I was preparing lunch, my friend whose father has been in hospital for 6 months rang to say the company (UPS) delivering the ethical Easter egg I'd sent her had put a card through the door, even though she was in, and she has to collect it from a vape shop several miles away! Whoever heard of such a thing? A vape shop! A soon as I get the time I'm going to ring the supplier and let them know.It's a shame because their chocolate ticks a lot of ethical boxes: no plastic in the packaging, no palm oil, Fairtrade and organic, small business. Anyway we then got onto the subject of her father's stay in hospital and my friend's attempts to have him discharged to his home, which is a long and sorry tale. Two hours later I came off the phone and finally got my lunch (I did A's as we were talking). Anyway, this is a long-winded excuse as to why I have not done two of the keys things on my list, nor one of the things carried forward from yesterday.As well as the things I crossed off I made tea for A and supper for us both and WUPA everything and vacc'd some bits off the floor (I'm clutching at straws now, I know.
)
On another topic I want to make an apricot mousse as part of the pudding I'm doing on Sunday. It's a sort of trifle with apricot mousse instead of custard. Does anyone have a good recipe for apricot mousse? I've looked at a few online but if anyone has a good one please let me know.7 -
- emptied dw and had to re-wash many items as it had had a hissy fit and spread black crunchy bits over all the glasses. Filter was fine so ran cleaning stuff through it.
- checked a savings account which gets drip fed monthly from another account as the 'source' needs topping up. Couldn't easily work out how to do that, so I did a transfer and will keep checking to ensure it hasn't disappeared.
- booked this year's challenge: the Bournemouth Pier to Pier swim in June (1.4miles).
- applied for road tax now the car has its MOT.
- sent e-Easter cards
- did more of a report
- acted on a few more 'flagged' emails although the list is still long
- paid next term's drumming fee and did a bit of practice.
- went to coffee with a friend, had hoped to get some calla lilies from Mr T (Lid1 had sold out yesterday) but they didn't have any either. I'll try a couple of other places tomorrow then I'm not going to fret about it. In past years, members of our congregation would sponsor a lily in memory of a loved one; last year I had no donations so instead of ordering them from a florist (very expensive), I found some growing in a garden centre. Those haven't re-flowered in time for Easter. No donations this year so maybe I will just do some spring flowers instead for the church.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Morning all.
I have a day with no plans although anything that does get done will probably be indoors as it is raining although I could plant some seeds in the greenhouse.
Anyway, just finishing first cuppa then I need to get dressed as we both forgot to put the bins out last night. While outside I will take a meter reading as our smart meter isn't working.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morning xx
I'm definitely already running on BST here. Falling asleep in the chair after 9pm and awake at 5.40am. Next week that will be perfect timing....🤞
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, completed Wordle and Connections, eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew.
Supervisor was suitably surprised to find her office decorated with banners and balloons when she arrived. And close to tears when I enticed her into the big office and presented her with cake and gifts.
L's leaving do to sort now. I need to book a table for 5 of us to have tea on Wednesday evening- L's last day. The silver lining to that cloud arrived in an email yesterday: from 8th April I'm back on Therapy Admin all the time. Yayyyyyy. I guess that will include Phlebotomy calls too, but that's not a problem. Supervisor whispered that they can't cope on Therapy without me. But I'll still be on Minimum Wage from 1st April so I'm not getting too up myself!
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I toddle off. I do like these three day weeks 😊
Raining here too.

Not an ‘at work’ day today so of course I’m running on stupid time. DD is in the process of getting up for work so i’ll stay out of the way. It’s raining, too.
