Playing catchup here after a great weekend away, disappointed we'd planned so much that we couldn't fit in a flymeet - sorry CofG as it would have been good, but another time hopefully.
Yesterday's catchup was unpacking, doing the washing, going to Body Pump, going to zumba, doing some gardening, meeting friends, checking the calendar to try and work out what this week has planned.
Today's catchup was gymswim, more washing, took car to MOT (it passed but needs new front brakes and 4 tyres in the next 3 months eek!), did some of a report, went to Mr L, more gardening, drum practice, started sorting through emails and frantically listing 'actions'. Luckily I'm not at uni tomorrow so I plan to zip down the list in earnest while Mr N is at the gym and before we have coffee with a friend (we seem to be very social at the moment which isn't good for either catching up or slinkiness). No time for breathing.
And CofG - I'm sure A is lovely indeed, but I have to say that he must have the same consultant as Mr N; his letters always refer to him as a delightful gentleman (or words to that effect; can't recall whether he is delightful or lovely too).....
Hugs and spoons to all and sundry as I can't remember anything I've read!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

This amuses me.. my Da's letters always refer to him as 'Michael' lol.. he is neither lovely nor delightful.. and I guess they are not allowed to write 'cantankerous old dog' lol

Morning all. Hope you're doing well today.
CoG and ASB - thanks for your comments. The problem is that I do do everything that DD asks including logging all food, nappy changes etc like the nursery do and limiting DGD2s naps to how long DD says she should be sleeping for in the day according to her age. DD likes to feel in control of everything. Mondays lecture was about how to cut meat.
Anyway, onwards and upwards. I'll see what flying I can get done this morning. After dog walk I need to put grass seed in the patches in the back garden. This afternoon DGD1 and her parents are visiting.
Have a great day everyone.

Narc0lepsy said:Ah so it's not just me. I maintain my right index finger isn't long enough - Mum just flicks the wool over for each new stitch whereas I've always had to practically take my right hand off the needle to do every stitch. And I'm still slow decades after learning.
I was falling asleep watching Sort Your Life Out last night. Bed at 10. And woken by strange music at....2.40 am ish. What!! Not loud but sounded like a trumpet fanfare playing over and over in the distance. Someone's alarm? I dunno. Most annoying. Anyhoo I did get back to sleep eventually.
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, packed my lunch, completed Wordle and Connections, eaten my breakfast and I'm supping my brew. Blue ear rings today CoG - looking at you for a coordinating Liberty scarf. Little did you know when you joined us that we'd be turning to you for accessory choices 🤣
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off. The supervisor turns 60 today so we're going to surprise her midmorning with cake, flowers, chocolates, wine, balloons and banners. I need to email contributors to the collection to ask them to join us and sing Happy Birthday.
K did not return to work yesterday. Not sure what will happen there. Top Boss came down yesterday and during conversation said she knows what the problem is in the big office and she wasn't saying any more. Why? Is she blackmailing you too? 😳. If you know who it is, do something about it. Sooo frustrating. And breathe....common sense is not common in Toxic Towers! (I'll put my soapbox away 😉)
Hope you all have a super day whatever you're up to.

paid stuff todayAnyway, budget for the new financial year sorted. It's very tight with just £7 a year left over! I've not taken into account any commission I might get as sometimes that is zero. I've had to cut charity donations out of my budget unfortunately but as the saying goes charity begins at home. The charities will just have my time instead.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Jazee.. just say ok and unless unreasonable do as she requests. You could have a conversation about how she speaks to you and reminder you are not paid staff, you are family. I look after my grandbeasts and I didn't write stuff down but would tell DD1 what has happened and when as I give them back.. but she forgets and will ask when stuff was done so I now message her with what we have done. Most childminders do a written record of the day now too.
Tip run.. DD1 drop off and speedy visit with Jazzles.
Back in a bit.

I cannot knit for toffee. My mum and sister can, and are very good at it (and my sister is a fantastic crocheter). My Nan was able to knit one handed! It doesn't hold my attention span anyway so I never bother with it. I'm in awe of people who can knit though.
Woke up feeling very refreshed at 7am this morning just before LO woke up which is hugely unusual for me. I normally wake up feeling very groggy and like I've not had enough sleep. It was nice to have some time to play with him before he went off to the childminder. Since then I've spent some time making beaded bracelets for the Taylor Swift concert I'm going to with some friends in June (apparently 'the young'uns' which I use to refer to anyone under the age of 28 now, are obsessed with making and trading basic beaded friendship bracelets at these concerts. As I am fairly good at beading I am making some for myself and my friends and then some to go on Etsy for a little bit of pocket money). It was all going very well until I pulled the elastic too tight tying the last one and it's snapped sending seed beads everywhere.
@Cloth_of_Gold having worked with consultants I can confirm that "lovely" in an official letter is not used lightly and therefore your gent must be a truely nice man. The absence of a "lovely" doesn't mean total grump, just not perhaps winning the most pleasant patient of the day award for that clinic!
No news on our bathroom fitter yet but OH has promised he will call today and be more assertive. He bought me some flowers and a nice lunch to have today last night as an apology and to make me feel better about LO going off to childcare 'full time' (he's only in a half day Tuesday and full days Weds/Thurs/Fri but I feel rather guilty about sending him a month before I start work, even though it's better for sickness, routine and for me to have some space and time to myself after a very full on year).
Today I really need to crack on and get some tidying done. My list is as follows:
* Dishwasher
* Hoover living room and bedroom/hallway (no point hoovering LOs room as it's full of bathroom stuff)
* Counters
* Take scraps out to compost bin (this was more attractive an hour ago when it wasn't tipping it down)
* Make lasagne (I am out for a gym class this evening so will make this this morning and OH can heat it up when he gets in with LO)
* Edit and add voice over to the youtube video I made yesterday (another side hobby of mine at the moment)
* Two loads of washing
* Fold and put away dry washing

I will make a cuppa, feed the girls and gather up laundry first and maybe load the D .. they will all be done by the time I'm off the phone. #EHCP not received yet...
