Hello all.Piggers, I think pubs are pretty much always open now.
CoG, Hope A is ok.
I am in a bad mood which is gradually lifting after a row with DD last night. Grrrr. I am fed up with being lectured on how to look after DGD2.
Anyway, I have done dailies, freshened the sofa covers, changed bedding, walked Poppet for over an hour and the grass back and front has had its first cut of the year.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
i’m fine CoG, thanks. Hope A is ok
Been fora walk. lots and lots of doggies being walked i think we had 3 conversations with dog owners. Lunchtime check in from me.
Jazee I am really sorry to hear that, I can understand how annoying and hurtful that must be in equal measure. Since mine were born, if anyone was minding them for me I was just so unbelievably grateful and always took the view that everyone does things differently. They could have sat them in front of a screen all day and fed them sweets - ultimately they were doing me a huge, unpaid, favour giving me the time I needed to either go to work/socialise/just be a person not a mum. I hope she realises and reigns it in xx
CoG I hope A improves. Do you mind me asking how old he is? The meeting went well thank you - I have to deal with wealthy people often in my job, but this was absolute off the scale wealth. xx
Oooh speaking of wealth, has anyone watched The Gentlemen on Netflix? I can highly recommend - do not watch if easily offended! Guy Ritchie shows how fab he is again.
Round - wow, well done that girl for sticking to her principles xx
No flying to report but I have put the bin out. Piggers - see you down the pub. x

I'm here.
- I've emptied all the bins and cleaned them out too.
- I've done three loads of washing (all the bedding that I'd changed yesterday) and hung everything out on the whirligig to dry - it is just a bit damp still, but rain is forecast this afternoon and the duvet covers are dry enough to hang on the airers in the bathroom to finish off. DH has helped me fold them. I'll do HHI in front of the TV this evening (including DH's best white shirt which I washed 2 weeks ago - he needs it again on Thursday)
- I've phoned the music venue in the big city to book for what should be a splendid concert by the organist Anna Lapwood in June - the cost was covered by the gift vouchers that we received from DS2 and DD at Christmas [insert Martin MSE]
- I've had some thoughts that will hopefully be helpful to help K on her debt-busting journey and at the same time will make W and M less demanding and more self-sufficient (ie teach them to cook).
- I've taken Rosie for her walk in the big covert and collected some mossy bits for Easter gardens - and I've admired the flowers in our garden, but the only things I shall dig up are forget-me-nots, which have self-seeded everywhere.
- I've put together and eaten a tasty lunch of leftovers.
- I've found some meatballs in the freezer for tea.
I'm now going to sit down and drink my coffee in peace, possibly enjoy a few zzz, and then go to see K again with my list of suggestions. Will catch up again with you all later. Hoping that peace and common sense descend on round's office xxx7 -

He's not too bad thanks, but not right. His face is still red and he's spent quite a bit of the day in bed but he did get up for a little bit of lunch and again at tea time for a cup of tea and a little bit of bread and jam. He's gone for a lie down again but in a little while I'll go and see if he wants any supper. I took his temperature with the contactless thermometer I bought and it was normal. ASB, he's 79. Last year he received a letter from the hospital after an appointment with a consultant and it started 'I saw this lovely 78 year old gentleman...'. He likes to remind me every so often that he's officially lovely.Jayzee, I hope you can smooth things over. I hate having arguments, especially with family members. Fortunately I generally get on with the little family I have left.ASB do you get to go to a fancy lunch with these people - I hope so?@ionafan how are your eyes?@pigpen how did DH's interview go? Hope you haven't been toooo stressed with all that's happening in your house.
I've nearly completed the things on my list, just the hair brush and dining table not done; I might carry those forward to tomorrow. Other than the things on the list I made lunch and tea and WUPA twice and did a Waitrose delivery order for tomorrow. After tea A decided for some reason that he wanted to wash his feet so I facilitated that.I was hoping to have a bit of time to read or/and listen to some music or watch some tennis online but it hasn't happened. Soon it will be time to make supper.

I have carefully read every post but not absorbed any of it. Oh except Pigpen I would love to help but need to be at the paid stuff and it's a bit of a trek for me x
I also wondered how A is, sounds a bit worrying.
So.. 8 hours at the paid stuff, cycled in and was in the office by 7.15am. Ticked off a couple of tricky meetings, walked to the convenience store at the other end of town to collect a parcel, which it seems has gone missing. Bit more paid stuff then cycled home, hoovered and dusted, cleaned the fire out, made our bed, and sorted some laundry.
DS and GF get the keys to their new house on Thursday. DS is stressed, I have offered my help if it's needed. I have been tasked with getting them a fridge and freezer. There is a local shop that sells appliances at sensible prices and they deliver, so I might pop in there tomorrow.
New glasses tomorrow and we do need to get some food shopping, as well as the paid stuff of course.9 -
@Cloth_of_Gold I am so stressed I had to resort to rennies.. we have a right pile of the proverbial to wade through.. but it will all come to an end. I cannot do any more to fix or change right now the stuff we have ongoing it is all a case of waiting until the time passes and everything resolves.. very few things are life threatening so it is all ok.. just a lot!
I'm glad A is lovely.. and knows it!! lol..
Job interview was ok OH says.. he was about 10 minutes early and the interview said he hates it when people turn up late (OH is late for EVERYTHING.. but I nagged this morning) OH said he felt 'over-dressed' because he went in his suit but i said showing willing and turning up looking nice is showing it is important to you and that is a good thing.. I've not checked the emails yet but they said they would let him know.
Children all fed rubbish and tired from playing outside today so that's a good thing.
Twinkles next 2 sizes of shoes have arrived so thats her sorted for a bit. I need to sort Dot's next.. she will wear 1 style and has had 5 pairs, 3 being the same size! I have the next size too.
I need to order school uniforms.
Most important I need to speak to the plumbing insurance people, pay dance class and swimming for next term and then pay music for the academic year.. I think there is about £250 left.
I need to order Beanies birthday presents for the 13th, hang up laundry and run the DW again.

I hope A feels better tomorrow.
I spent another 2 hours with K. She is switching bank accounts and also has a refund due from her council tax from the year that's just ending - the council had overcharged her! - so that will be a big help. W says she wants me to teach her to cook because it's fun doing it with me, so that's another good result. Both she and M were in a far better mood this afternoon because they had been to a council-run activity centre where they had been baking banana and choc chip muffins, which they both enjoyed. I am taking them there again tomorrow morning - this time they will be having a talk from the police about keeping safe.
In flying news, the washing is all airing nicely on and around the bathroom radiators, and I am about to do my HHI.
See you in the morning xxx8 -
washing brought in dry, but just to be on the safe side the non iron stuff is airing on the maiden
pleased about that as forecast is for rain for the next few days, and i much prefer the line for bedding.
goodnight all. There are chocolate digestives and there’s a bit of trifle left, and horlicks…yum yumDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
