Round. I have been knitting since I was 3.. and IMO so long as your end result is good enough for you and it makes you happy then it doesn't matter what others think.. I did 'correct' my daughter on her purl stitch, she was going in the wrong side so it was twisting the stitches.. but she's made some lovely things. You will get back into the swing.. and it isn't like they have done what my daughter did and spring a 17 week grandbaby on us at peak knitting season !3 items listed to sell.. 1 needs a wash but I will through them all in shortly.I need a decent lottery win if anyone has a spare ticket?
Off to find some food before I fade away. make a cuppa.. and dig a mountainof shoes out of the girls room and get them donated/listed/put away. I sorted 2 boxes to go to recycling and a box to list which I did straight away and still loads to do.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -
Knitted 4 more rows - including two rows of pattern. Get me. Thankfully it's a very straightforward pattern to get me back into practice.
P & S have been for a coffee = 1 Easter egg and 1 Easter card in, 2 Easter eggs and an Easter card out. Plus I 'donated' a pair of bootlaces to P, and he's taken a plant in its pot to sell at the auction tomorrow. Fer-ling. I will reclaim my kitchen worktop!
Round 2
Throw out Mother's Day flowers

Cloth_of_Gold said:@roundtuit putting me to shame as usual. It's nearly 10 and I haven't done anything apart from ring a company that I ordered some Easter eggs from last night online. Somehow the order confirmations came back with the shipping address and billing address being the same on each one. That's fine for the one coming to me but I've sent one each to my friends in Plymouth and Manchester and I don't want them to include the invoice in with the egg. There was no reply though so I'll try again in a minute. By the way, Round, Confucius had a saying 'Happier is she whose weight stays the same than she who puts a pound on'. And I'm sure Confucius knew what he was talking about. My aim for today, in no particular order, is:Ring the Easter egg company and sort out the invoice issueWUPA A's breakfast things.Clean the bathroomClean the kitchenOrder the lamb for Easter SundayEmpty the kitchen bin and put a new bin liner in and take the bag down to the bins.Go out and get a paper for AHave a walkUse my new kettle bells for the first timeVacuum the sitting room and hallTidy another shelf of the bookcaseDo some online bankingAnything more than that will be a bonus. Have a good morning everyone and I'll report back later. Here's my update - not bad. This morning I decided, once I'd got going and after washing up A's breakfast things, to have my walk and as I wanted something from Boots I combined the two things, as well as getting A's paper. I naughtily decided that I might stop off somewhere on the way back to read my book for half an hour. I called in at a really nice pub we occasionally go to and had a glass of wine and read a bit of my book, with no likelihood of any interruptions - what a treat! When I got back I made lunch and washed up then did all the other things I've crossed off on my list.I've just made A a cup of tea and a hot cross but and I"m having a coffee and a biscuit and then I'll wash up again and try to compete the remaining things on my list.@Valli I'm really pleased you were feeling good this morning.@kiss_me_now9 that is sooooo annoying. I hope he turned up in the end.

CoG - good for you. I wish I could have been there to join you! I am looking at a late Spring/early Summer team meeting in the Big Smoke, would be great to meet up if you are able.
Lots done today. Loads of paid stuff, I have a really big meeting with a wealthy individual tomorrow who is interested in supporting our work, on a totally philanthropic basis. It's just bank interest to them, but I need to make a good impression and make sure I remember everyones title in the meeting (lots of Ladies, Dukes and an Earl).
WM is on because the fully house trained dog wee'd on the kitchen sofa throw....
I am having a Monday glass of Spanish rose and some chocolate buttons. I know how to live! Piggers - if I could help I would sweetie.
Iona - I am sending you lots of love, I've been worried about you.
Sleep well all xx10 -
Unfortunately bathroom fitter did not turn up and apparently might not be turning up until the end of April or even May! I am absolutely livid, even more so with my husband who took the phone call and mildly agreed with the lady from the store about "them trying to find someone else to help out if they can" rather than being assertive and telling them to either sort it or lose the fitting contract.
Still. Silver linings - now I will have the relaxing end of my maternity leave that I wanted. The house is going to feel very quiet!
All tasks completed and I've spent some time this evening updating my diary (I have a 5 year one that I'm two years into) which helps me process things and makes me slightly less upset at the end of the day! Hope you've all had a good day. x£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January10 -

Hope you're feeling better today Valli x
Pigpen, I'm sorry to hear about Boog - hope they will start taking care of themself now x
Today I have
- sorted out my car insurance, getting another round of quotes (a couple of which were considerably cheaper than a week ago) and saving almost £30 on the renewal price for a better level of cover
- phoned DSisIL and told her I am coming up to York
- stripped my bed, and DH stripped his
- K collected me and I went to her house for lunch and to try and help her with her finances, but the girls were in such a grotty mood, and K herself was very tired and couldn't cope with them, that I suggested at 2.15 that I would get the bus home. K insisted on giving me a lift home, so I stuck it out until 4.00 (in the meantime we did manage to have some uninterrupted conversation), then we all came back here for tea.
- succeeded in cooking a meal which W enjoyed: she finished first and then asked for more, which is a win-win
- re-made the beds with K's help
- watched the BBC quiz night and actually managed to get some of the answers right for Connections.
The bedlinen might have dried on the whirligig if I had got round to washing it this morning, but it was raining until after 10.00 so it's still piled up in the utility. I'll start a load tonight and try to get two loads hung out early tomorrow.
Tomorrow I hope to take my car out for a short trip to MrAl and MrB the chemist. Off to my bed now xxx11
