humph. it’s been a day. despite the dw at work having an out of order sign somebody stacked it and left it…with milkshake in. And i’ve had it up to here with one of the groups and the state they leave the cafe in. They accepted a donated play kitchen which had bodged repairs and exposed screws and a baby chair with a tear. So i have been to the tip.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Not a great deal of actual flying, but I seemed to be occupied.
- did a bit more of a report
- went to Pilates
- visited friend in care home
- went to drumming lesson
- raided Mr T for Easter flowers to do for church. Mr N had kindly dropped in to 2 supermarkets when he came home early from his voluntary work (it is gardening in the town museum gardens and rain stopped play!) but reported no calla lilies. I didn't find any either, but spotted a pot of growing red anthuriums so bought some white roses to go with them (I usually do red and white at Easter). I don't much like roses but there was little else except tulips and they aren't good for arranging in anything except a vase. I was going to get some ordinary Asiatic lilies as I love the scent and could have used some in the church arrangement as well as some at home- but they only had one bunch still in tight bud and one other a bit the worse for wear. I bought a mixed bunch of bright flowers to do on one of the church windowsills.
- went home and picked foliage, started arrangement.
- transferred payment for the new front fencing which should arrive at some unearthly hour tomorrow.
- Had nice long chat with DB on the phone. Ditto another friend - time consuming but pleasant.
Did you find your apricot mousse recipe CofG? I think most mousses are just the fruit, cream and gelatine! The Mr T magazine this month had some nice-looking hot cross muffins which I think I might try to make tomorrow. I haven't found any hot cross buns which don't have either wheat or potato in, sadly.
Tomorrow is letting the fence man in, meeting other flower ladies to decorate the church (we don't have a service in our church until Sunday, so it is ok to put flowers in on Good Friday as nobody will see them!!), probably go to the Good Friday meditation service in the next village. Then hopefully I can catch up with some gardening although the weather forecast isn't brilliant. At least I can sow seeds in the greenhouse.
Have a good Easter everyone.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
@Valli I'm often disappointed with the thoughtlessness of others. It seems much worse in recent years, but maybe that's my imagination.@YORKSHIRELASS sorry about your cattle scare. I know they can be quite dangerous so good you weren't hurt.@Narc0lepsy Yes, mousses are as you say (possible with whisked egg white added) but even then there are many variations. I decided on raspberry one, which I will adapt for apricots. I'm sure it will be fine; it's only a later of a sort of trifle when all said and done. Happy Easter to you.Final list update:Tidy the dining table, which is a mess again (b/f from 2 days ago). Actually I might just give up on that for now.Clean and tidy the penultimate shelf on the bookcase (b/f from yesterday)Take everything out of the hall cupboard and discard anything past its use-by date and put back everything else but tidily, not in the messy way it is now. (b/f from yesterday)WUPA A's breakfast thingsGo for a walkFinalise my Easter Waitrose orderClean the hobIn the end I decided I would tidy the shelf and I also emptied the kitchen bin and tore up some cardboard boxes and filled a recycling bag with them; a bit better than I was expecting earlier. I didn't go for a walk because the weather was terrible for most of the day. I didn't get to the 6pm Mass but it's live streamed so I 'attended' that way.I probably won't post tomorrow but will be doing minimal flying. Will be going to the 3 pm Mass.Night everyone.

YL.. I hate cows.. the best thing to do with them is eat them.. monstrous creatures.. I was almost trampled to death by them aged 11.. all I was doing was opening/closing a gate for our car to go through.. my mother thought it was hilarious, I was terrified.
CoG .. I think people became much more selfish and rude since C19.. all this blame and hate towards neighbours just ruined communities. Instead of blaming those responsible people turned on oe another and turned each other in for nothing. Just showed how things would easily slide to Mad Max in the event of societal breakdown.
Valli.. it is crazy how thoughtless people are.I have another sale to post.I am really tired.. had a really stressful week.
We are expecting a decision on OH's redundancy/redeployment on 21st April.. Monday we are supposed to be emtying MIL's house.. I need a brain break.

Morning all xx
A bit early for a Bank Holiday. I woke up at 5.40 am and got up at 6.05 when the need for a brew overtook my desire to stay in bed. So I'm up, made my bed, completed Wordle and Connections, and I'm supping my first brew.
Going to read and make a second brew. Hope you're all still 😴

Morning all, waves to Round. So for some reason I was wide awake at 5am, that's three mornings in a row! One load of washing out, kitchen cabinets and appliances wiped down, and the kitchen and utility floors scrubbed. Breakfast next then will head off to DSs.
It's a beautiful morning here, hope the sun is shining with everyone else x5 -

Ive got a second group now, and no mistakes … i had to google a word for the first group i got to see if it went with the other three, never heard of it but thought it might be a viable fit. (the jeweller).
So i have 8 left to sort…Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Second brew has been supped. Breakfast eaten. And chapters read.
Valli - I solved the green line first, then blue, pink and yellow. I rarely find the yellow line the easiest.
I suppose I ought to get dressed. In fact I've come back on to thread to motivate myself.
Round 1
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the recycling

We had a lovely day out yesterday. Rosie spent all day with the dog walker and her pooch. I did us a cooked a cooked breakfast at 7.00, then we caught the 8.00 train to Cathedral City. When we arrived, the place was swarming with police and other Secret Squirrels, but there were also welcoming smiles everywhere, and with our tickets and ID we got into the cathedral without any difficulty, to attend the Royal Maundy service. We were not recipients but we know several of the people who were, and it was great to see those who put others before themselves being honoured in public.
Afterwards we went out for an excellent pub lunch, then did a little bit of shopping on our way back to the station. We were lucky to miss all the rain up to the point at which we arrived at our local station, where it was coming down in sheets, so I got soaked in a 5m dash from the station building to the car! The rain continued for the rest of the day, and having driven the short distance to my 6pm chiropodist appointment, I decided that my eyes - although fine in daylight - could not cope safely with darkness, heavy rain and car headlights, so I went back home rather than going to the evening service at my church (which would have meant driving round the town centre ring road, aka race track).
Today I need to do some proper flying, as well as baking biscuits and putting together the materials for tomorrow's Easter garden-making session with the children. And I've got to be in the town centre for the start of the Walk of Witness at 9.45. Better get DH up and moving!
Hope everyone has a good day today, especially those who get the day off work xxx
