Yeah, I guess. The Everyday Current Account was switched to the Edge Current Account.

In reality, the only thing that changed on my end is the name of the account. The actual transactions and the initial balance from the original switch are still there with their original dates.

I'n hoping that if it is reviewed by a person they'll see that both account types are eligible and an eligible account has remained open throughout - but I don't actually expect it to play out that way.

I'm happy with the 7% saving account, but the switching bonus would be a nice little addition.
Is the account number of the Edge Current Account the same as the Everyday Current Account you switched into?

I'm really not sure what will happen here. You could contact Santander to explain and see what they say. Your assessment date according to the offer terms is 20th May, though they seem to be assessing accounts a few days earlier so possibly even tomorrow. Although it can take another 30 days to get the bonus, they seem to be paying them very quickly after assessment. So you should know very soon even if you don't contact Santander.

Worst case scenario is they say you're ineligible (which I think would be very harsh), but you could then apply for the current switch offer and be eligible for that instead.

I’m 99% sure the account number has stayed the same, which fills me with some hope.

I’ll leave it a week or two and if nothing has come through I’ll have a chat with them and see what they reckon.

Fair point about being eligible for the current switching offer if this doesn’t one come through, however I’m trying to hold off on any switches for now to let the credit file heal before a potential mortgage application towards the end of the year.

    Appreciate your thoughts this evening!

Switch started on 18th March, completed on the 27th March. Incentive payment received today.
Thanks! Well clearly there's a pattern here.  It seems they pay your bonus based on the switch start date, i.e, between the 18/03 to 16/05 is 59 days, however if you include the 18/05 as the end-date, then it's bang on 60 days.

Based on above info, I'd say I should expect a payment on the 1st June as my switch started on 03/04

My reward has come through today (switched on 02/04/24). Changing account types hasn’t affected it!

What's the best way to stop having to pay the fee while retaining the edge saver? Can you just drop it to a free account and back up or?

If you want the Edge Saver you need the Edge Current. You can avoid the £3 monthly fee by not satisfying the conditions for receiving cashback, either don't set up 2 direct debits on the account or don't pay in £500 per month when you open the  Edge current account.

However, if you want the switch bonus you need to pay in £1,500 and create 2 direct debits, so that will trigger the £3 monthly fee and once it starts you can't stop it being charged monthly other than by closing the Edge current account (and you'd lose the Edge saver account).

I thought the monthly fee was triggered when you start earning cashback on the account, not when you create direct debits and pay in £1,500 ?

    The T&C's state:

"We’ll start charging this fee after you meet the conditions for earning cashback for the first time."

The conditions for earning cashback are pay in £500 per month and have 2 active direct debits.
