Valli great news about the diminishing side effects.
CofG how infuriating. My mum had similar today; she was having trouble with one hearing aid so (eventually) got an appt with the audiologist. Audiologist bore them off, re-set them and gave them back. Mum asked if they were going to be re-fitted as one keeps falling out. Audiologist said we don't do that here; probably buildup of wax is preventing a good fit so make an appt with your GP nurse......acknowledged that the nurse doesn't do de-waxing but will make her an appt with a different clinic and she will probably have to pay. Neither the GP nor the clinic are easy bus routes and Mum is 92, no longer driving. Such a waste of lots of NHS faffing not to mention Mum's time. Anyway we are on our London trip tomorrow so I will give you a virtual wave!
- filled bird feeders
- continued with a report. Yesterday's student was a delightful young man who scored 40/50 on the ASC screening so I shall be referring him on. His family sounds to have almost as great a variety of neurodiversity as Pigpen's.
- did Pilates
- did drum lesson
- cancelled tomorrow's milk delivery
- sent a get well card to one friend who's just had an operation, and another to a friend who has a birthday tomorrow and I forgot to take her real card to the gym on Tuesday.
- studied weather forecast and more-or-less packed for our London weekend. Packing very light although I am optimistically taking my swimming stuff, but the docks trip will depend on a) if there is anything else Mr N would prefer to do than watch me (in reality he will explore the docks with his camera) and b) the weather , as I can only carry a swimsuit whereas I'm normally still in a shortie wetsuit.
- double checked our tickets, vouchers, restaurant card (courtesy of TopCashBack), routes and train/bus details.
- got details from our left-hand-side neighbour about the planned new fencing between us in the front garden; we are going halves so we can both have a say in it although technically it is their fence. Their left-side neighbour has just had a new fence and it is lovely, which is what prompted us, so we are getting the same. Oddly, according to our deeds, we own/are responsible for neither left or right fencing, but we get on well with the neighbours (we have the other half of a semi with them). One local man makes the fencing and another village local will install it.
Have a nice weekend everyone.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
sis popped round having been at mums. issues with the dentist, upshot was sis asked for a copy of their dementia policy. they don’t have one but it led to a productive chat with them, one issue is the anxiety mum now has when an appointment is looming, so they’ve been advised of this and she had a much calmer visit. she now faces an eye appt so she’s been panicking about that.

@Narc0lepsy sorry about your mum's problems. Our GP's practice nurse de-waxed A's ears but your mum's won't - there's no consistency is there?Hope you have a good time here in London. If you see this and want a flymeet on Saturday or Sunday morning I'll be happy to meet you both somewhere mutually convenient for a coffee.@pigpen that peacock Ascot looks very stylish. The matinee jackets (is that what they're called) look really sweet.@Valli good that you've sorted out one anxiety problem for your mum. I hope you can sort it out for the eye problem too.8

Greetings earthlings xx
It's going to be one of those weekends with two Sundays. But I'm not complaining. I'm up, made my bed, and I'm supping my first brew.
CoG - the meeting was quiet and quick. Very quiet. Very quick. Almost comically quiet if it wasn't for the simmering tension in the air. And breathe... And later in the day I received a Well done email from the supervisor as the inbox was empty for the first time in nearly two weeks.....ie since I last worked on Therapy. I them got roped into helping the temp on Macmillan - blind leading the blind there as I've never worked on that unit. Interesting though. Unfortunately they've only advertised the Macmillan role as half a job ie 18.75 hours. And that's not enough for me to live on. But there are changes afoot with L leaving on 3rd April, and I've suggested that I'd be best placed on Therapy all week. Seeing as I'm the only one who can keep on top of it 😉
My task for the weekend is to finish clearing the kitchen worktop. It's been a WIP forever. When I first joined Flylady I couldn't S&S an inch of it....I can now S&S half. Rolling my sleeves up to tackle the other half. And hoping that having a focus will dispel aimlessness. It's all a learning curve 😊
Brew 2 first. Are you sure it's not Saturday? 🤔
Love to all

Apart from a small number of to-dos left over from yesterday, today is looking much calmer It started well with a phonecall from DS1 on his way to work, and while we were chatting I was watching the bluetit flying back and forth to the bird box which DS1 made for me, which is fixed at bedroom window level on the ash tree by the gate. It looks like we might have fledglings in about 3 weeks' time
I won't have to walk Rosie this afternoon, so I'm hoping to get the dailies out of the way and give the admin list a good drubbing this morning, then rest a bit. When DH goes to war games this evening he is going to drop me off at K's, so I'd better bake a cake or some scones to take with me. The Scouts are having a sleepover, so we can relax and indulge without the girls interrupting
Hope everyone has an easy Friday = last day of term for some. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to you all, as needed. Narc0 and MrN, have a great weekend away! xxx

Squeak is staying home today.. I am picking up Dot at 1 as I have 2 opticians appointments to make and prescriptions to collect.
Dot has been excused from the church service this morning because she is not respectful, quiet or manageable.1 school emailed.I had an egg for breakfast.. a creme egg!! just having a cuppa and I will crack on with house stuff.
OH is thinking of picking up a bag of garden waste from my sister to take to tip.. she has an enormous pampas grass to dig out which is proving stubborn!
Regarding work we are thinking of him doing a part time role and gardenning the other days until he is set up enough to make it a full time job..
Right.. cuppa.. 4 rows of knitting (8 row cable and I did 4 last night) .. then cracking on.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7 -

Brew 2 supped.
And I'm dressed, completed Wordle, got 2/4 on Connections*, fed the birds, unboxed cans of pop in the fridge, put out the recycling, eaten breakfast, set WM swishing with towels and tea towels, and put the rest of the scrapped roofing felt in the bin ...that was heavier than it looked 💪. Fer-ling
* the 'connections' on the two failed lines didn't look connected to me even when the answers were revealed, so I'd no chance 🤣.
WUDUPA and coffee next. Maybe not in that order 😉

Didn't fancy a coffee after all. So I've WUDUPA, washed and recycled yogurt pots, and pegged out the towels and tea towels.
Forecast says cloudy and breezy with 0% chance of rain. 🤞
Rusty tin opener and broken camping cutlery set binned.
