@Fayolle I applaud your selfless decision not to risk wasting the delivery driver's time by vacuuming and not hearing the door.Went out for my walk (about 3 miles, so not bad) which I combined with a visit to the little M&S and the wine shop. They were having a tasting of Nyetimber English sparkling wine and although I would never drink at 11.00 normally, I did have half a glass of rosé as I thought that refusal might cause offence. Anyway, it was money saving, right? On the way back I called in at the butcher for a slice of bacon for A's supper and popped into the bookshop to see if they had a book I wanted. As it turns out it's not published until after Easter but the person I spoke to recommended another by the same author. It's only 69 pages so as A is going to watch Death on the Nile this afternoon I'm going to try and read it in one go. I also bumped into a neighbour and had a good chat to her and then came home.Once home, I washed up A's breakfast pots, took all the books off one shelf of the bookcase in the RoD, dusted it and put them back in some semblance of order. It's only one shelf, but it's a start. I then prepared lunch and will wash up shortly. Once A is settled with the film I'll start the book.8

Washed up and got A settled watching the film, fiddle-faddled about a bit and then at 3pm settled down to the book. Even with a break for tea I'd finished by 5. I'm not sure it was worth a tenner but as I rarely have the time/concentration to read these days it was good to have read a whole book. It was rather unsatisfying but probably i didn't really 'get' it.After finishing reading I washed up the tea things and returned a call to my brother who'd rang whilst I was reading but I decided to let the answerphone take it so that I could finish the book. He didn't answer though so I left a message.7

Well, I go AWOL for a day or two and you lot are eating Creme Eggs for breakfast and swigging Cava in the middle of the day!! Tsk, will have to bring some semblance of order to the proceedings before we get kicked off the site.
So, Saturday, I was up early, threw a load of washing in, hoovered and mopped, then announced we were having a day out. So we drove over the moors to Guisborough and had a wander around the shops and Priory then bought sandwiches, cake and coffee on a bakery meal deal before heading to the coast.
DH can't manage steep slopes at the moment so we parked near Redcar and walked along the coast path. We both decided we needed a loo stop so headed into Redcar itself. Oh dear it really has gone downhill in recent years, like alot of seaside places I guess. Very sad. It was bitterly cold and we had walked about 4.5 miles by the time we got back to the car so DH was shattered.
So it was home to grab something out if the freezer for tea and light the fire. Lovely day and only £14.50 spent.
Thank you for your lovely comments about work CofG it means alot. How's A's skin doing?

Thank you for your lovely comments about work CofG it means alot. How's A's skin doing? While the cat's away.....It's a pleasure YL - and every word true. It's looking a bit better. It's one of those things that suddenly flares up out of nowhere and his face gets very red and the area under his eyes becomes very puffy. He has a couple of creams to put on when it happens and it usually settles it in a day or two. Thanks for asking.Made supper and washed up, set up A's breakfast things and started the night time eye routine. After that I shall be off to the land of nod. Sleep well everyone.

i have wine and cava envy. I’m rather partial to Lidl cava myself…Arestel?
Well today is the only dry day forecast for this week so i have a load in the WM and i’ve just been to peg out what was ready to peg out…one load has been waiting since yesterday morning. The sun is bright but it’s cold and breezy, so it should dry. DD’s work clothes are washed now, and should dry soon. I’m back in bed, halfway through connections but completely baffled by the last 8 wordsDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Good morning my lovelies xx
I'm up, made my bed, completed Wordle and Connections*, and I'm supping my brew.
*Valli - let me know if you want a clue or two. 😉
I think that losing weight has made my rose coloured glasses slip off. (Well, people do keep telling me my face is thinner.) I realised yesterday just how bad this house still is. 🙈 Instant overwhelm followed by 'read a book' afternoon. I think it's called avoidance 🤔
Anyhoo. Recognising there's a problem is the first step right? So I'm relighting my Hovel to Haven challenge. It's going to take a while, but I've given myself the year to get rid of all the chubbage, so I'll use the same time frame for H2H.
Less reading, less telly viewing, less scrolling, less Solitaire. More action! You have been duly elected as my cheer onners? cheerers on? Fan club 🥰
Brew 2 and dig out the list first. (No need to reinvent the wheel 😙)
Have a good day
