New to the thread, had a go at Tuesday's jobs this morning. I only did about 15/20 minutes but it's kept the worst of the detritus at bay.
I think the plants were glad of some love!10 -

All electrical appliances in kitchen and living room cleaned and I've been to exercise class and chiropodist. Three wash loads done, unfortunately all on airers as we've had rain. Chilling now.Spend less now, work less later.9

Evening all, would you mind if I join you in the quest for flying? I am knee deep in decluttering which i find more enjoyable than cleaning so need a big kick up the bottom to start getting on top of the mess in this house. The problem with the decluttering is that you can see that the cleaning really needs to be improved on 🤓.

Evening all, and welcome to all newbies - especially those combining flying with decluttering!
Thanks to those people who asked how my eye is. I managed to get squeezed into the consultant's clinic yesterday afternoon. She said that, only 1 week post-op, my eye was healing extremely well and my vision was vastly improved. She laughed at my description of feeling as if there was a spider spinning in my eye and poking the inner corner, but said that the discomfort is being caused by dryness caused by a reaction to one of the ingredients in the AB eye drops (which I have to use for 4 weeks), so she gave me some jelly-like lubricating drops which seem to be working very well already. Unfortunately these come in a pump-action bottle which is very stiff, so I have to get DH to put them in for me, instead of being able to do it myself. Anyway, I now don't have to go back next Monday for the original review appointment, which has been cancelled.
The consultant completed the consent forms for my right eye surgery, and the hospital rang first thing this morning to check that I am happy to book that for 9th April, so all being well I should be able to travel to York for the Flymeet on the 7th, possibly with an overnight stay so that I can visit my DSiL
By 12.30 today I had
- checked finances and updated my spreadsheets
- done Wordle and Connections
- at the request of a 5yo who used to come to our church toddler group, agreed in principle to make Easter gardens with the children on Easter Saturday - so much for my being retired from that job! Now I need to check with the person who did something similar last year, and also the vicar, that they hadn't already planned anything for the kids
- PUPA and hoovered up Rosie's moultings in the LR
- eaten breakfast, showered and dressed
- done WMx3, but, on unloading the first lot, found a very soggy parking ticket which DH had left in a difficult-to-find pocket in a pullover. The WM had washed out the reference number on the ticket, but we spotted a still legible phone number, and by dint of a bit of good detective work DH was able to ring a real human being and sort out how they were going to trace it so that he could pay up.
- taken Rosie for a walk: it was supposed to last for about 3/4 of an hour, but in the first 3 minutes she got stung on her back left foot by a bumble bee. We returned home straightaway, as she was clearly in pain, and I wrapped her foot in a plastic bag with some frozen peas, tied one of DH's socks over it, and left her to have a quiet afternoon with DH monitoring her. Thankfully, she is fine and back to her usual cheeky self this evening.
- eaten lunch
- replaced various things in my car that I had removed on the day of the MOT
- accepted a lift from one of the Old Wives to the funeral of one of our number. It was a good service in a packed church (about 4 miles from here, and one that I've never been to before) and with lots of conversation over the cup of tea and cake that followed.
Afterwards I walked about half a mile to the nearest train/bus interchange to catch the bus to our big local horse piddle for a check-up in a different specialism: thankfully no problems were discovered here either, and they have discharged meCaught another bus back to our town centre, where DH picked me up for the last part of the journey home.
My Greek friend A had called round this afternoon with a chicken curry and some rice, so I didn't have to cook tea, and now I am so shattered that I am off to bed. G'night all xxx

Just a fleeting visit to say hi to newbies.
Report checked and sent off, another one started and paperwork labelled and sorted for tomorrow.
2 cakes made and house all shiny on all the bits the church group are likely to see.....they liked the cakes but there is still a lot left.....I'll leave it for the WAC.
Went for gym swim this morning and got a reduced cauliflower in C00p; double whammy as veg were already this week's offer - along with gf bread. Did cauliflower steaks for dinner - hadn't tried that before and they were ok.
Bought a load of compost, also on special plus member discount.
I'd planned to do a Docklands swim on Sunday when we're in London but the weather forecast isn't brilliant; 'chilly' is ok in my usual lake as I've got my wetsuit, but I'm certainly not carrying that on the train!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Welcome @Dfw38After lunch I washed up and, did a bit of indoor gardening, did a light vac of the sitting room, emptied the kitchen bin, rang a friend who is ill, rang my friend in Manchester to wish her a happy birthday and ask about here father who has now been in hospital for 6 months. Made tea, washed up, made A's supper, 'attended' a church zoom meeting, had my supper, washed up, put out A's breakfast things, did the evening eye routine and........ breath.Sleep well everyone.9

Morning all
Sounds like good news on the eye Iona, and I really hope you find some relief from the hay-fever Pigpen xStill having issues with my eyes, collecting new glasses next Wednesday, so just have to manage. I have told work that I might have to do some shorter days but then the work just piles up. My anxiety is sky high and like Round I feel a bit discombobulated. I also think there is some menopausal stuff going on which isn't helping.
But it's starting to feel like Spring, even if it's raining again. Yesterday I cleaned out the LR fire, brought in washing that DH had hung out and ironed a few bits, ran the cordless vac around and had a general tidy.
Right, quick yoga session then paid stuff. I am at a workshop thing at work this morning which should be easy.
Have a good Wednesday all x11
