Going shopping tomorrow after spin. Plan is 1. Take a list 2. Be disciplined - if it's not on the list it’s not getting purchased 3. Carry a basket not push a trolley 4. Pay cash

paying with cash really does make you question things not on the list - I was going to happily buy a load of YS meat in Tesco but decided no as the freezer needs defrosting. Probably could have spent less by £8-£10 but happy that my 3 shops in Tesco / M&S / co-op were focused and organised and paid for with cash!
Btw the co-op dishwasher tabs are actually pretty good, got 30 for £3 and they’ve done a great job cleaning the dishes from dinner! A brand down size I’ll stick with
oh how difficult is it to pay with cash! Terrible- Grocery Challenge: April £263.60 / £250

well, this is pure guesswork, but please put me down for
£400
for April. For most of the month there will just be 3 of us, but DD1 will still be here for 1 or 2 evening meals per week (sleeping over whenever she has consecutive day-shifts, until she can transfer closer to where she now lives) and various family guests are expected at for a few days here & there. Also, for us it is a 5-week month & there are still some special dietary requirements to cater for. I'm basically trying for £80 per week, but am aware that I may not be able to achieve it.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)4 -

Sorry to hear about the housing situation @Doom_and_Gloom, sounds like a stressful time but do try and remember to look after yourself and be kind to yourself as well.
I very sadly lost my little rescue budgie the other day. She came to me in 2018 and I honestly am feeling so lonely and empty without her. I'm not allowed pets in my house as it's rented but the landlord had made an exception for her. I just don't know what to do with myself, it's so horrible without her here.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old Style, Crafting and Techie Stuff boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Sorry to hear about your pet. There was probably very little you could have done to help her but its sad nonetheless. Its the 24/7 companionship that pets give that is so hard to replicate- Grocery Challenge: April £263.60 / £250

I am so sorry @elsiepac. They become a member of the family. I know it wont be the same but do you think your landlord would agree to another budgie to keep you company? Sending hugs. ❤️
