I find the base tends to go very soggy if I don't at least part cook it first. I do tend to love loads of cheese on my pizza's though so perhaps that is part of the problem.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Ours don't go soggy at all and DD's pile on the topping like mini mountains. We do however throw the sauce & topping on v quick & put it straight in oven. Could it be your sauce that's making it soggy?

This is my favourite, just use the base - but cook it on both sides in the frying pan. Use my own pizza sauce and toppings (normally sun dried tomatoes, black olives, red onion and mozarella). Delicious and really quick and easy - plus not too calorific as no fat

I did it - it worked!
    I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.
  • I dont want to make ordinary pizza bases
I want to make ones like the pizza hut thin and crispy ones
  • Have a look at this thread.

We make ours in the breadmaker and half the dough to make 2 thin bases rather than one deep one.

Hi. Like you I love my pizza base really thin & crispy and have found Jamie Oliver's recipe in his 'Jamie's Italy' cookbook works great & it's simple to make. I can let you know the recipe if you don't have it.
  • I have tried many, many pizza bases in an attempt to find a perfect one. The best (and, thankfully, no need for further searching) is one which Toxic Lemon posted a few months ago. I'm hopeless at posting links but if you can't find it through the search, let me know and I can re-type it for you if you are interested. You need to be able to locate grade 00 flour, which Waitrose stocks (and no doubt many other places).
