Check that adventures for dough thread - there are plenty of other things you can do with it! You will be amazed! Doesnt have to be used for pizza my darling!

Do you not have a pasta sauce jar (full or empty). Glass wine bottle? You are bound to have a glass bottle rocking about the house, think!

Try hand if you are stuck but I imagine a device of some sort will make it easier. Even use a glass. There you go.

You dont need anything to put it in. Freeze it in a freezer bag. Or plastic bag if you are stuck.

If you dont have a rolling pin make sure that you flour the surface put the dough on the floured surface and flour your hands. push it flat in the middle and keep turning and pushing down and streching out the dough. going round in circles it will spread the dough out. When it has a bit of size to it put it on the floured tray and continue till its the right size. Be careful not to tear the dough.

Oh gosh no! I dont think glass freezes well?! That could have went horribly wrong !:rotfl:

I was just punching my dough out there (for bread) and it turned out a pretty good circular shape so hand can work too.

Springing back is the annoying bit - though I read here if you leave it for 24 hours, it rolls better so will try that soon

I use a pizza stone, but it doesnt crisp up, so i cook for 5 mins until its hardened enough for the fillings not to fall through and land on the oven floor:rotfl:. Then i put it directly on the shelf so it crisps underneath for the last few mins. I wonder if there is a better way?

I don't weigh because I use recipes from New Zealand and Australia which use cups instead: this one for pizza dough looks ok.:

I find it easier, but I think also if you are starting out a set of cups (they will have them at the supermarket, I think my ones came from Morrisons) is probably much cheaper than decent scales.

    Get yourself one of these:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pizza-at-Home-Maker/dp/B000GH3QIU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1253379609&sr=8-1

I'm sat eating a home-made chicken & mushroom pizza right now. I've made pizza myself for ages but was never happy with the base when cooked in the oven, then I got a pizza maker. Oh my goodness, it makes fantastic pizzas and if it broke I would replace it straight away.

They are a bit expensive but when you consider how much you pay for a take-out pizza it soon pays for itself. And keep an eye on Ebay, they're sometimes on there, I managed to buy mine for the princely sum of £2! :D
