sorry to keep you all waiting - Ricks' still alive although in an induced coma and on life support. the operation went well last night they have left him with an "open wound" so that they can drain the excess fluid which is putting pressure on his heart.

we got up really early having not slept and went off with the children to milton keynes shopping (if you can call it that!!!) trying to occupy ourselves, we needed to do something without hanging around the house all day.

i've arranged for the children to go off soon for tea at a friends house and we are off to see Rick.

Thanks for the update. So relieved he is hanging on in there, it could've all been over in theatre so there are positives. It's good for you to get out and pass some time, must've felt surreal with all the bargain hunters....
