    I have only just come across this thread. I'm so sorry for your family's news at the moment.

    I spent most of my festive season bedside with my 4 year old who had a serious case of pneumonia with pleural effusion (fluid build up), whilst my mother in-law was the other end of the country after a heart attack and acute renal failure, so I know all about crap presents being put into perspective. I wouldn't wish that worry on anyone. Like many others I'll be waiting to hear news from you and hoping very much for the best.
