  • Not a financial job, an assistant psychologist - a bit of a leap, but somewhere I'm hoping I could make a real difference to people...

Didn't mean to go on about what we've been through so much - reading about Rick last night just brought it all back, and I couldn't stop myself. Sorry about that.

Take care of yourself, and big hugs to you and your family
    xx
Please be nice to me, I'm new...

don't by all means apologise, it was comforting to read your post. i'm sure you will enjoy your new job - i do a similar job - i work with children and Specialise in child behaviour and maternal health including mental health.

i haven't got any further update today as i am at home with little one having an emergency tidy up - the bleach just about threw itself at the toilet, and i've been on my hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor, and putting all the Christmas toys away. i feel better and more energetic today.

    UPDATE

I AM WRITING THIS IN CAPITALS BECAUSE I AM SHOUTING FROM THE ROOFTOPS.

RICK WAS WOKEN UP BY THE DOCTOR TODAY AND TOLD WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO HIM, RICK RESPONDED TO THE DOCTOR BY MOUTHING HIS REPLY (BUT HE CANT TALK BECAUSE OF THE TRACHY). THE DOCTOR IS REALLY PLEASED WITH HIS PROGRESS.
he is mildly sedated now, so can be woken up by a mild shake. he's still on a respirator but the plan is to keep it in to give him more of a rest at the moment.

the plan is to keep him in ICU for 2-3 more weeks to monitor.

i've just sobbed my heart out with relief
