dont worry i'm all right i had a good nights sleep last night went to work this am - had an easy day today just booking appointments as my colleagues wiped my diary - tomorrow off to starbucks for the morning to run a PND clinic for new mums (its really good fun and we have a fab time), and afternoon fairly easy too as i am running a behaviour clinic for toddlers at the library. so an easy day for me

my boss discussed offering me a sub-contract for my personal business (which aims to reduce PND) which starts next week and i'm up in the finals for a business plan award i found out today, which would mean i would have a few thousand if i win (its like a dragons den competition).

its my daughters birthday tomorrow - so that will be exciting for her and us. the childminder is throwing her a party (although her party with us is Friday).

It sounds great i wish your daughter a very happy birthday :j And I'm sure you will win
Good luck in your new business

    update

ricks sedation has been reduced again, and he's still asleep - his respirator is having to do less work which is brill - he's really comfortable.

my daughters 3rd birthday today all the family came round - felt really sad as there was one person missing - Rick, and the children were asking where he was (even though they know he's in hospital) i told them he was having some peace and quiet in hospital having a sleep.

    it always happens to me....
i went to the clinic this morning and arrived to a medical emergency where a baby had just been scalded badly by hot water - so i did all the first aid stuff and sent my student nurse in the ambulance to the hospital with the mum. so all morning i was at the A&E in Leicester. (the baby will be allright).

anyway the boss came in this pm and told me i have enough on my plate at the moment so she's moved me to the town where i live for a few weeks doing a couple of jobs per day (clinics) and school hours.

briefly ..my colleague has an interest in pnd - she takes part in a study and is a registered counsellor. i originally became involved when she was off and had to deal with a couple of distressed mums. i introduced a play session where i focused on bonding using psychological attachment methods i combine these with relaxation techniques and complementary therapies & sensory equipment. usually by the end of a session i tend to get everyone relaxed and have had sleeping mums / babies which reduces stress and helps them realise that how they are feeling is normal. usually by the end of the 5 week sessions we have usually got to the stage of organising and managing life as the attachment is usually there by then, and if not they get some extra help. my collegues offers free counselling sessions to complement.
    Give blood - its free
  • What a rollercoaster of a time you've had. Thank you for prompting me to give blood. It is so, so important.

My little girl had scepticaemia (sorry, not the right sp) at 13 months old. It was a complication of chicken pox (she was one of these kids) and was on full life support and an induced coma for a week, and in hospital for just under a month. She had blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, and multi-organ failure. And thats just the stuff I can remember. I came home for one hour every night and, like you are doing, sent an email to everyone I knew to tell them what was happening. It kept me going, helped me cope. But I didn't have someone giving me food, and I wish I had! Thats a huge help for your family, you're making a big difference to them.

My daughter is now 3, 100% healthy and the whole episode has made me take a step back in life. I'm leaving my well-paid-ish financial services job soon to work for the NHS. A big scary step, but everything we went through made me determined to make a difference with my life. And I can finally give blood again (delayed due to pregnancy). Thank you for prompting me to do it now.

    Big hugs
    xx
Please be nice to me, I'm new...

glad your little one is ok now it seems like we have been going through the same stages at different time warps

if your joining the NHS (financial side) one of the first jobs you can do is sort out my pay as they have been overpaying me for 2 years despite me telling them every month - and whoops i seem to have spent it:rolleyes: but hey what does that matter:D
