Got a lot done yesterday. Read the MSE article about claiming for potential commission payment from when we bought our car. Went to get the paperwork from the filing cabinet which is in OH's office and got distracted by the pile of (mostly unread) magazines on the floor blocking access to the window. He was out of the house yesterday. Picked them all up, sorted into date order and hope to get something flogging on a local sales group. OH reads the digital copy he gets every week. So that's 75 mags plus a lot of the plastic most of them were still wrapped in sorted. Had a good dust round, cleaned some mould off the bottom of the windows. Also cleaned the bath which had collected a lot of dust and fluff from hanging washing over it. Got around to sorting the email re the car, and also recycled some old paperwork.Today been to my volunteer job this morning, just deciding what to do next.Make £2025 in 2025

I'm having a horrible flitting from one thing to another day as I can't focus. However on the positive side:
- I have finished and emailed a report and started another
- I've only had to resort to one hot lemon med today so my cold must be improving
- I've organised the TCB voucher code ready for our weekend away.
Ah, that's not really much is it? But trusty Mr N has sorted and put away dry clothes and has done some washing up. I've got some fish out of the freezer for tonight's dinner - surely that counts as flying? And I have let loads of flies outside; we have an enormous number of huge ones in the house - I suspect that one of our unwelcome rodents has.....demised....somewhere. Enough said. As a pacifist I'm not sure that opening the window hoping they will die of cold or be swept away by rain/squishing them/spraying them is really in my remit but YUK.
It's been raining here all day so tomorrow's drive to uni could be slow/flooded.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -

I've started reading the Slow Living thread after it was mentioned earlier. And was inspired to spend a little time in the front garden, in the sun, with my secateurs. I've removed all the dead bits from the dahlias and cut back the cotoneaster where it's swamping the gorse bush. All cuttings etc are in the brown bin. So the garden is a little tidier, I've had some fresh air and sun, and the neighbours are all in shock 🤣

I've updated the expenses spreadsheet for February, also going back to last May to note down my exercise class expenses that were written on the old calendar but not on the SS. Need to find another spreadsheet where I note down my volunteering hours across the year, then last year's calendar can finally be recycled.I'm taking part in the great plastic count this week, so have printed off the list of things that they want counting and will update that from the collection in the kitchen from yesterday. Off to do the washing up otherwise dinner will be awkward.Sun is finally trying to break through here after a thoroughly miserable day. We had a lovely day on Saturday, but these endless weeks of rain have been so depressing. Forecast doesn't give much hope for any improvement in the next 10 days. Visitors from Scotland at my volunteering job asked if it was always like this, and I had to explain we are in the dryest part of the country, but not so that you would notice at the moment.Make £2025 in 2025

it's brightened up so my washing went out - sheets so pleased about that. Tea all prepped too. And Baby Esme's cardigan knitted - just needs button band and sewing together.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Afternoon everyone. I've been MIA, not for any particular reason - it's just that the days seems to fly by even though I never achieve anything of any great consequence. I haven't managed to read all the posts I've missed but I did see yours asking about me @roundtuit - thanks for that. Not too much flying done recently - just a bit of S&Sing and a bit of vacc'ing as well as the usual shopping, cooking, washing-up and caring duties of course. Yesterday I was going to have a good go at the kitchen and bathroom but in the end all I got done was to bleach the kitchen sink and washing-up pad.
I deferred my 'good go' to today, and as it was wet this morning so I didn't want to go out, I was hopeful of success. I kept being distracted though but did manage to clean the bathroom basin, lav and mirrors and had a S&S in the kitchen. Mid-afternoon as it had finally stopped raining I went for a short walk (about a mile and a half). I came back and made A a cup of tea and he's now watching Hobson's Choice in the bedroom.
Hope everyone is well and, if not, hugs and spoons coming your way.7 -
Hi all
Hope Twinkle is OK Pigpen, at least she got a thorough check up. You have so much on your plate at the moment, I do worry about you x
And Valli hope you feel better after restful afternoon.
Managed to get up, do 30 minutes strength training, shower and wash my hair, eat breakfast and be in the office before 8am for our Tuesday staff meeting. Hairdresser this afternoon so finished early. My eyes are not functioning properly so I am going to a different opticians tomorrow for a sight test and check up.
Flying has been limited, I have put a load of washing in and set the DW going. Feel generally a bit discombobulated at the minute but no idea why. I will take a hug from CofG if there is one going spare.

I did ring a friend as she had rung me at 11.30 and asked me where we where. I said, at home, and she asked why, as we were supposed to be meeting her and going for a coffee and walk in her local park. We only made the arrangement yesterday and I know it wasn't for today - it is for next week. I know I can be dozy these days but I would definitely not confuse 'can you meet tomorrow' with 'can you meet on the 19th.' and I wrote the date on our calendar immediately.I think she thought I'd got it wrong and sounded a bit annoyed but I know that I didn't. Anyway, I thought I would ring her and make sure she had got over it; I think she had. She's getting on and is very forgetful now and had had her daughter and grandchildren at the weekend so was tired I think. As it was pouring this morning it would have been impossible to do the park bit anyway and pushing the wheelchair in the pouring rain to the cafe, which is on a road with no parking, would have been no joke either, so I'm pleased it wasn't today.Made supper and washed up, did the evening eye routine and set-up A's breakfast things. Time for bed soon - sleep well everyone.7
