Morning all
I was up early as usual. My bedding is in the WM (which keeps tripping the power which is annoying, but I will just have to manage before I have no money to buy a brand new one - this was a FB marketplace put-me-on thing).
Kids beds are made, kitchen stove lovely and toasty. Lots of paid stuff to rattle through today. It is grey and damp here again - bring back a bit of sunshine please.
Love to all, sorry head is a bit of a shed xx8 -

@roundtuit - I'm struggling too 😔 it doesn't want to load then times out 🤦♀️
I've been awol for absolutely ages but really hope you'll have me back! 🤞
I really need to start getting stuck in to the housework list - I've been poorly on and off over the past few months but it's just been a recurring bad cold and I've used it as an excuse to be really lazy! 🤦♀️ I've decided that this week I'm getting back on the wagon and making an effort - I won't necessarily be following the lists but I will do something every day off the lists I currently have!

Thanks for that left - I've been blaming my phone. Maybe it's not at fault then. 🤔 Sorry phone.
And welcome back onto the flylady wagon, left. 😊

Hearth now paint to my satisfaction, I've wrapped the brush and saved a small amount of paint for when the woodburner goes back in place, there is bound to be some touch up needed. Put all other paint related stuff back on garage on shelf neatly.Small power washing done, looks better, council have just emptied the recycle large bin so power washed the inside of that as well, it is now drying on its side on a slight slope, hopefully any water left it, will drian way and it dry out, however the cats seems to think it is some sort of play thing, they are running in and out of it.Washing is in TD, it is still overcast nothing today is going to get dry on whirly today, and rain is set for tomorrow.Sorted out kitchen along with everything else I did early this morning, I must say how tidy and neat the house is looking, I'm chuffed.Breast Cancer Now 2022 100 miles October 100 / 100milesSun, Sea

Rxx2x WMDW emptied and refilled.I cannot for the life of my find this jumper I sold.. It will be in a box I have looked in 27 times already no doubt.I have 1 binbag for CS too so will drop that off at some point.. we have a cat rescue CS so I will endeavour to get it there.
Charity gift aid.. remind me.. if you pay tax you can add that on right? So if I donate in OH's name I can add that on?
Table cleared.. and work surfaces..I have explored new litter trays.. I am using a large stacking box but it is too shallow and I need something bigger.. any suggestions? I have an old girl who doesn't jump and a 4 year old hairball with a wonky tail so nothing with doors because he gets it trapped.
I have 2 grandboys.. though one hasn't woken up yet.. and the other is looking a bit bored.. I need a toy swap I think.

thanks for lists. Welcome to newbies and returners.
I'm going through a chaotic stage (so what's new?) so can't remember when I posted last; think it was the beginning of last week then I had an extra assessment to do before going to my Mum's for a long weekend. Annoyingly, Mr N's cold which seemed to have dissipated without me catching it, returned to both of us on Friday evening, 24hrs after arriving at Mum's. So not only did I feel bad health wise but also in case Mum gets it. However it was in general a good weekend and major flying clearing out Mum's garage.
So today, and probably this week, will be catchup, in between coughing and sneezing.
- wudupa
- one load through DW, put away
- one load washing done
- kettle descaled
- unpacking was done when we arrived home last night, mainly because I couldn't find my glasses. Annoyingly I'd seen some lying in our room at Mum's but didn't register as I'd been wearing contacts since Friday, so I assumed they were hers. Wrong. So I've dug out my previous prescription, which wasn't that different as far as I can tell - and I still have my cheap full varifocal prescription which I use for swimming; they aren't particularly attractive, but hey ho.
- I'm catching up on report writing (3 outstanding) in between the hot lemon sipping.
Round you are doing brilliantly on the slinky front. I keep having the Bournemouth 'Pier to Pier' sponsored swim pop up on FB; it's 1.5 miles so surely I should aim for that (it is June so no ice breaking!) and it would be an incentive to pull myself together fitness wise. Hang on - didn't Grandma used to say 'feed a cold'? or was it 'feed a fever and starve the cold'? Here's hoping.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Valli said:Welcome to the weekly Flylady Thread.
What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole task easier and quicker. We also accept that, sometimes, life just gets on top of us and we can't keep up, maybe because we're time-poor, not in the best of health and/or we have littlies who need us. We are definitely NOT control freaks aiming for perfection and utterly spotless show-homes.
You're more than welcome to join us in the everlasting battle against dust, rammel, grime and gibble. The aim of our thread is to make those onerous tasks less daunting, and to support each other - and to make time for the finer things in life!
Please do remember we have to abide by MSE rules; each post should, ideally, include some mention of flying.
Thank you Natty for last week's thread.
Please follow the forum rules on this thread as Flylady has been here a LONG time and is a fabulous support and resource for lots of us. All posts should have some Flylady-related content! (i.e. it should be on-topic)
The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week -
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. .other music may be used if you prefer!
WM ~ Washing machine
TD ~ Tumble dryer
SC ~ Slowcooker
BM ~ Breadmaker
DW ~ Dishwasher
SOAADFA ~ Sit on 'bottom' and do 'nothing'
KH/XH/FW ~ Ex-husband and other not so polite versions
DH/DD/DS/DW/DP ~ Dear husband/daughter/son/wife/partner/whatever
OH/SO ~ Other half/significant other
NN ~ nice neighbour
Toxic (friend/mother/sister/whoever) ~ person in your life that seems to exist to make your life miserable
AF ~ Aunt Flo 'time of the month'.. nothing to do with flying but it comes up often.
ETA ~ Edited to add
Gibble ~ miscellaneous crap that appears forever homeless
Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- that’s your first 'dot' - totally clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle, you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each dot tidy until you get them all joined up! All credit to former Flylady AnW's Mum for this one
RoD ~ Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be used to its potential!
MAD half hour
- Mad is the abbreviation for Make A Difference.
The idea is that you have a Forth bridge (ie never-ending - or just huge) task but that you work on it in half-hour bursts. This way you know you ARE stopping, and that you won't get it finished but you will make a difference - so it might be clearing out - the garage or shed, or clothes sorting, or weeding - you get the picture - but rather than keep going until you've lost the will to live you do half an hour...but, eventually those half hours will get the job done!
Frog (or other amphibian) ~ google 'eat that frog'
Spoons ~ google 'but you don't look sick' and/or 'The Spoon Theory'.
Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al - supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!!

I can't see much so please excuse typos. Caught up reading comments by holding a magnifyng glass up to my non-op eye! The shield comes off the op eye tomorrow morning, then I can fit my specs on again - DH has taken out the lens on the op side. I shall not be going anywhere this week, except maybe walking Rosie on Wednesday and Thursday.
Have a peaceful evening
