I can always tell when the window cleaner is due - and tell the difference when he has been. He also cleans the frames and under the sills - removing cobwebs and spider nests. He does the gutters as well (I'm next to a wood, it's a year-round battle).

Wouldn't be without my window cleaner.

Ground floor flat, two big bay windows (9 panes each), two kitchen windows (one single pane one triple) , two bathroom windows (singles).
I'm disabled plus don't have a ladder to reach high enough, he charges £12pm, does all frames+ sills, and even the whole front door, plus a window that is actually my upstairs neighbours.
My windows and especially sills look much better than my neighbours who don't do anything to them!

I'm managing to keep my oven clean but it's on the wishlist to have a monthly cleaner for that, especially someone that will take apart the doors and clean the inside glass.

i also wonder the same thing about professional oven cleaning and washing machine cleaning services I guess its for people who are time poor.

I pay someone to clean our double oven now and again. I find that you just can't get it as clean yourself, plus using those bags to clean the shelves and racks is messy and difficult. I've just had a couple of quotes for under £80, which is well worth it for me. It's not a lack of time, but a lack of skill/correct equipment - and a lack of inclination!

I never clean my windows. They are just fine, we can see through them!
It seems a waste of time and money to either clean them myself or get someone else to do them. I think it's a lot more than £10 these days as well!
I've had mine cleaned today, £6 and they are done once a month

Reading this thread makes me think I need a window cleaner XD

Window cleaning, oven cleaning, car detailing and indeed hiring a cleaner very much falls into the "if I had the spare money and ability to remember to book them in" category for me. Yes, my windows aren't sparkly clean. No, I don't particularly care :)

Not always about being time poor.  In my case, it's age (mid-70s) and I don't think the NHS would thank me for breaking a leg after falling off a ladder cleaning windows!  I've always cleaned my own windows and, whilst I can still manage the insides, I think it's about time I found a window cleaner to do the outsides.

My window cleaner is on an eight-week schedule. I can always tell when he has been, so my windows do need cleaning that often. It's a back-breaking job that I hate. I'm happy to pay someone to do it for me.

  • I wash my windows when it is raining ! Why ? you ask ..
    a) because it loosens any dirt off
    b) it saves alot of water
    c) in the past when  I've washed/ cleaned them it always rains  afterwards anyway !
I also wash my car in the rain too - my neigbours think I'm nutty but why would you wanna do those jobs in the blazing hot sun when everything dries so quickly and leaves smears ?? .. 🤔🤔 maybe I AM the same one 🤭🤭
