Window cleaners - just why?

The rain certainly doesn’t get all the dirt off my windows. There’s one I’ve had to ask the windows cleaner to stop doing for various reasons and it is most definitely dirtier than the others. As to the rest of it, three story terrace and no head for heights. Window cleaner is worth every penny for me.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.3 -
I wash my windows to get rid of the bird droppings, spiderweb build up, particulates from nearby log burners and open fires. Most of all, it's to stop algae and lichen growth which prematurely age the window frames.
The same reason why I regularly clean my fascia and guttering or pressure wash and paint my external walls every few years.
Rain does all the work for free. Is this thread just weak trolling?5 -
I take it you are cleaning your own windows, just not using a window cleaner? I’ve never used a window cleaner, I do my own. A person I visit does not clean their windows, leaves it to the rain and what a mess there is. Cobwebs, leaves in the cobwebs, algae and off course the glass is never clean. She is happy there but houses need attention.0

Definitely bird poo here. More generally it's a job that we will never ever remember to do ourselves and it is worth the money to us to 'set and forget' by having it done on a regular basis. Same with lawnmowing tbh. Neither is moneysaving but we can afford it and it takes those small irritations away.0

Having the skylight windows regularly cleaned properly is well worth the money. Too old to be messing about on ladders.2

Most people assume that windows somehow become opaque if you don’t have a window cleaner. They don’t.0 -
I have 2 windows that cannot be accessed by the window cleaner. They certainly are nowhere near as clean as the rest of the windows in the house, they are noticeably dirty. When I get round to cleaning them from inside I can see the dirt and bird mess running down. And £6 every 3 weeks is not unaffordable.
