Anyway, good news, the car will be ready by 10am tomorrow 😊 Doesn't really make a difference - if I'm going to town I'll be staying at the office all day and collecting it at teatime anyway. Wheelbearings had gone and become trapped, jamming the wheel. They've replaced the other side too, as they were on the way out as well. Didn't ask the cost 😬
MOT next week, so at least it won't fail on this 😂9 -
Oh Cheery that is awful about the 'wrong email'. I mean you are very gracious to see that 'mistakes happen', but goodness.
Ouch to the car repairs. Just ouch.

I suspect the mistake will have been the administrator who sent the wrong email. I'm annoyed with them but trying to be understanding.
Im far less understanding about the people who actually made the decision, mind you 😡😂8 -

Just popping in to report remaining budgets, with 6 days of the month to go...
Food & household: £135.34/£350
Diesel & parking: £136.88/£300
My spends: £71.01/£150
Mr C spends: £123.85/£150
Joint treats: £20.80/£200
Not toooo bad. Little car will need filling up tomorrow, and I'm not sure how much diesel the other one's got left in. Obviously this has been helped considerably by not having access to both cars for several days each 🙄😂
We did actually go and do a 'big shop' the other day (just over £50) but food budget is looking pretty good, it includes household supplies that you'd get from a supermarket too.
Mr C's spends still looking suspicious 🧐 but he is pretty thrifty and is capable of being even more so. I'm more frittery (on little things) and haven't attempted to deprive myself too much, whereas he has. My spends have also included several leaving dos for colleagues, and buying food to take to events etc.
Treats budget won't last til next Tuesday, we'll have to top up from our spends or from food (appropriate since it's probably replaced several meals 😬)
Overall we will definitely have wildly cut spending this month, which achieves the goal 😊😊10 -
Well yay to the car being sorted, and the cake, but yah boo SUCKS to the sort of folk who send an email saying "well done..." without checking that this is actually the correct thing to send - may they indeed be feeling guilty!
Great stuff on cutting spending too - I definitely need to focus back on our odd little spends, and very much so on the groceries too - I know costs have increased, but still!
As for the YNAB stuff - I always wonder slightly if I'm missing something when people say that it's worth that level of payment to save themselves all the time involved in financial admin, because my financial admin rarely takes enough time for that to be in any way worthwhile for me. I suspect it's the difference between having the "pots" held centrally in one account, and having everything individually in its own pot - which is how we do it, though. My financial workflow has most stuff automated, and the only manual bits are things I'd have to do anyway (transfers to CCs, Mortgage OPs etc), plus the quarterly reviews on various bits, which again, I'd have to do regardless. No shade on anyone using a different method, but I'll happily take a small amount of additional work in the first place to save myself either a lot of time down the line, or what, £84 a year?!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
