Thanks Greying 😊
No down time to start with - off to see Mr Cheery Snr and prepare his house for him coming home from hospital. Fortunately not the DIY SOS team required last time, but it'll still be a bit of a cleaning day. And then maybe some downtime!6 -
oh that’s ludicrously frustrating about the promotions thing - I wonder if it is more that they don’t have the increased pay for additional higher level people or whether they are hoping that those in search of promotion will depart and they can then not replace…or perhaps both. Regardless though after all the time you put in to meet the deadline VERY annoying indeed.Hope things go well with getting MrC Snr sorted.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I think both - and also it doesn't look great to be promoting some people and getting rid of others. But anyway, it is what it is.5

How frustrating about the lack of promotions Cheery, but I know your place of work is not alone - similar happening in Cambridge.Hope the cleaning and arrival home of Mr C Snr goes smoothly.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Nope, definitely not alone, the whole sector is a mess at the minute 😕
Cleaning going well, although Mr C has been trying and so far failing to attach the TV to the wall so we may be here a while yet 😬7 -
Morning MSE chums 😊
Breezy here today, I'm just going to stick some washing on as it'll likely dry in about 10 minutes.
Mr C Snr's house is all ready for him to go home - Thursday is the plan, fingers crossed nothing happens to change that. We considered heading to the seaside for a night while we were most of the way there, but decided against it on balance - had a takeaway at a friend's house on the way home instead (shared a meal between us so it only cost £10.90).
Yesterday was a grumpy washout - I think there's just been too much peopleing for me lately 😬 We did nip out for breakfast, but hadn't realised our favourite supermarket cafe had closed so soon, so had to go elsewhere. I spent most of the afternoon/evening crocheting in front of the TV, and had an early night in the spare room.
Lazy morning so far, Mr C has gone out without me (very wise) to get some food, so I'm going rustle up a gentle list.
* washing on
* breakfast
* reacquaint myself with the IPL machine
* shower
* washing out
Then an assortment of things depending how the weather plays out
* mow/strim
* study curtains (not done anything since I finished the first set, and there are still 2 sets to do)
* blog post
Probably won't get all those done, but I'd like to do at least mowing OR strimming OR curtains. We'll see.7 -
I can relate to just being grumpy and ‘not feeling it’ - I was like that this morning. Just getting started seemed to help a bit 😊

Thanks @KajiKita and @beanielou So sorry to hear you've been feeling gloomy too.
Improving here. Maybe I just needed to do nothing but lounge around until I was fully ready not to. Mostly lazing today so far, but I've got a load of washing on the line and another in the machine, had scrambled eggs for lunch, Mr C did a food shop, and I'm off out to mow the grass while it's not raining. Not grown much but there's quite a few dandelions poking their now bare heads up, and we've got visitors on Monday so I want it to be a little tidier 😊3 -
Glad all is on track with Mr C Snr.
Having a day or two (or three) for your brain to catch up with itself is also productive, doing all the things with no time to process them will always result in a grumpy tired day because brain says 'can you please just stop for one minute while I sort out all this information, have you seen the state of my inbox, honestly, you can't get the staff these days'7
