😂😂 love that you think Mr C might know the band because they have similar hats 😂😂 that's absolutely the kind of thing that would happen 😂😂 send me the band name and I'll find out 😂😂
Sun's shining again today 😊 Mr C was going to see his dad but now isn't - nice to hang out but it does mean I won't get as much gardening time as I wanted 😬 Before anything else though, I have to get out for a run!3 -
Urgh, I'm going round in circles tonight! 🙄
I've got the house to myself - usually the recipe for a productive evening! But no. By the time I'd got home, eaten, and had a small loaf about, it was 8.30. Then for the last hour I've been trying to work on my curtain project.
Spent a while removing the curtain tape from the old curtain - only to realise the threads had been cut so it was impossible to straighten without ruining it, so that went in the bin.
Spent another while removing the lining to the old curtain, and then removing the threads from the edge - only to realise it wasn't going to fit and had several mouldy patches, so that went in the bin too.
Unscrewed grub screws on the rail, only to realise I was unscrewing the rail from the wall. Had to screw those back in, and unscrew the right ones (to get the pole out).
Miracle of miracles, the new curtain rings were in the car that's on the drive (not the car that's 30 miles away with Mr C).
Hung one curtain - then couldn't find any more curtain hooks. I KNOW we have ENDLESS amounts of these, but where are they?! In the loft? In the garage? Not rooting through either of those now.
Sigh. Dare I start sewing the next curtain?! Or is that just a recipe for disaster when I'm so clearly tired and incompetent?!6 -

Thank you all 😊 xx
No curtain progress today. Worked at home (and in a cafe 👀) and spent much of the afternoon with my laptop out on the patio table in the sunshine 😊😊😊 Most pleasing 😊😊😊
Mowed the grass for the first time this year, looks so much better and nicely ready for visitors at the weekend 😊
Did a little bit of decluttering and sorting while waiting for the bath to run. The 'Spring in our Steps' thread is really helping me to tackle all the little annoying things that bother me every day but that I don't do anything about - get over there if you also have several of them waving at you! 😊
LPG company replied - just to say that they were treating my email as a complaint (as I requested) and a different team will be in touch. We'll see what comes of that.5 -
Greying_Pilgrim said:Oh Dearest Cheery - as I first read your post, Transvision Vamp were playing on R2 'All Request Friday'. Although the song 'I want your love' wasn't as big a hit (in Young Farmers) as 'Baby I don't care' - it did take me straight back to Young Farmers discos. And for sure, the 'night out' would NOT yet have started on a Friday night in the 1980's! but goodness, I was humming along (DH just arrived home), and I was thinking to myself, gosh....... I'm glad I've nowhere to go 🤣
Have a great time out with your chums.

@Cheery_Daff was that £313 cafe bill spent in Harrods cafe ? Or the Wolseley ? Either way impressive
on the LPG issue have you looked at the ‘resolver ‘ website ? As that often has some decent legalese in the standard emails for various issuesDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Yes, looked at the resolver website, thank you. I wrote the Halfords email through it - but sadly they've disabled their customer service email address (!) so it bounced back 🙄 Tried the LPG company but they're not listed - I put in a request to Resolver to list them but in the meantime just used the Resolver suggested format and sent it via their normal email.
Just decluttered a face mask while in the bath 😂 Wasnt taking up much room but it had been sat there since Christmas 😂7 -
Urgh, just woke in the night with period pain, got up to find painkillers and refill hot water bottle, and slipped and fell down the stairs! 😱
Just a couple of stairs onto the intermediate landing (ha!) But I landed with the small of my back bashed into the step I'd just fallen off 😬
Mr C was still up and came to my rescue, although I'm not proper injured or anything, just feel quite sick (from the shock and the pain, which is now both front and back 😬). Just running myself a bath and as soon as I'm sure I'm not actually going to throw up, I'll take some painkillers as originally planned.
I still seem perfectly mobile so clearly not broken anything, but I'll likely be pretty stiff tomorrow - NOT the start to my fortnight off work, during which I had mostly planned gardening, DIY, and running! 😬
Distracting myself while the bath runs with a wander round the forum so please excuse me if you see babbling 😬10 -
