Cheery's path to fulfilment - finishing the DIY, looking after myself, appreciating the garden 🌻

Morning chums, feel like I've been missing for ages, it's been a busy old week! 

Had a lovely time at the conference, and my hotel room had the most excellent deep roll top bath and underfloor heating! Not bad considering I'd had to book that one because the conference hotel itself was too expensive to book without getting special permission 🙄 Dinner etc included with the conference too, which was free! 😱

Mr Cheery joined me and we stayed with a friend on Thursday night which was lovely 😊 He cooked in the evening, but we did go out for breakfast so a bit of spending there. Had a nice time hanging out with him til early afternoon.

And now we're on holiday! 😃 Just for the weekend 😊 Paid £22 to park the car all weekend as there's no parking here - probably could have managed cheaper but I don't know it here at all, and it's pretty close to where we're staying. 

Flat is lovely 😊😊 On the main pedestrian high street above a shop, on a corner so there are 5 windows in the living room. It's peaceful, but it makes a nice change for us to be able to hear people pottering along the street. No pubs within earshot so it got very quiet in the evening - until about 1am, when the bin lorry turned up and giant wheelie bins were being paraded up and down the paved streets 😮😂 There's also a set of bollards at the end of the road so we can hear the mechanised "caution - bollards in action!" voice 😂

But all this makes a nice change from our silent rural existence 😂 We wandered around a few charity shops yesterday and I bought a stack of books (always a holiday treat for me). Then we had a takeaway as it got quite late once we'd unpacked etc. 

Today is a day of treats as it's my birthday 🥳 i don't think I'm going to get breakfast in bed but the people who own the flat have left half a box of coco pops so I'm going to make a start with those 😂 I love coco pops and NEVER buy them, so I do try to sneak in a small bowl whenever I happen on them 😂 Other than that, the charity shops that were closed yesterday afternoon, at least two cafes, and a walk along the river I think 😊

Oh, and I must ring the bank. I've been trying to transfer the money to meet the conditions of the latest bank switch - I did half but the banking app has been down for days. A quick phone call will be fine i think, and I'll be able to scoot the full amount over to Mr Cheery's new account too - need to check the DDs on that when we get back. I've been really putting this one off for some reason - maybe I've just reached the limit of my patience and enthusiasm 🙄 I'm in danger of missing the cut off the way I'm carrying on though! 🙄

Anyway, no beating yourself up on your birthday! Coco pops are calling 😁
