Am really worried about Dr Michael Mosley's disappearance on Symi. He hasn't been seen by his wife since Wednesday lunch time. There's nothing I can do to help. I can read his books though so that's what I will do. If he doesn't survive, the Blood Sugar & Fast 800 books will be a big part of his legacy.

A body has been found near a cave. Latest theory is that he fell 10 metres from a path.

It is sad. It was very strange to go off anywhere without your phone these days. I didn't realise he was that age either. I thought he was at least 10 years younger.

I also thought how weird it was to go off without his phone.
Umbrella but no drinking water taken with him apparently - read conflicting reports on that however. Strange to go off in desert type heat without fluids.

so things must have been working for him somewhat.  But yes very sad.

I was talking to a colleague who has just taken a month off work to walk the Camino del Santiago and she was saying what a marvelous experience it was.  But that during her time walking 2 people died - one in his 60s due to a heart attack and another, about 40, who seems to have just slipped off the path.  Things can seem so random.

I too was sad about MM - seemed like a really genuine guy :(

I've now finished The Housemaid's Secret - quite enjoyed it and a quick read. Now onto the Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Good so far!

Very sad re Michael Mosley.  Hopefully he didn’t suffer.

A gentleman literally dropped dead in front of my BIL on Saturday.  We were at the rugby and BIL was queuing to buy drinks at the bar, which was beside one of those long staircases that you get at Twickenham.  This gentleman got to the top of the stairs and collapsed.  He could not be revived by paramedics.

I've not been to the library for years and recently started going again with the grandchildren. They really have come a long way in terms of services offered and selection of books etc. Even self-scan options!

They are absolutely brilliant. Sadly Nottingham is shutting two libraries down and reducing the hours of others due to budget cuts, it's such a shame.
