Just discovered Ramsay Sinclair on Kindle Unlimited. Read Blood Upon the Snow and Cult in the Woods last night and just started on Murky Waters. The main character, DCI Cieren Black (the mis-spelling irritates me), is the son of Superintendent Clyde Black. The DCI was a kidnapped child and so was his Detective Constable, the son of a high court judge. The settings are in Scotland. Although the book does cover the relationships between the team members, it has more action and less pie and cake eating.

I used to read Georgette Heyer when I was younger.

I read The Chateau by Catherine Cooper yesterday and enjoyed it. I didn't guess the twist at all.

That's actually one of several ways to spell the name, ranging from Ciaran to Kieron and all variations in between.

  • I collect variations on names as it helps in family history. I have over 500 variations for Elizabeth and over 400 for Catherine. Very few names are always spelled the same way (especially surnames). And no one actually knows what the name was originally - as we weren't around then. I basically just go by pronunciation, but you have to know what the accent was for that. Some relatives have a different spelling on every document. It makes it more interesting that way.

I completed the Kindle Spring Reading Challenge 1 April - 30 June with 9/9 achievements. I read for seven consecutive days to get Perfect Week, ten times. I got Perfect Month, for reading every day, for a month. I picked up Bookish, Bookworm and Bibliophile for set numbers of books read. I managed Bronze Reader, Silver Reader and Gold Reader. No reward for all the effort. Not even a measly 50p off books ! Won't ever do that again.

I did all that too, but didn't do it for reward, its just what I do anyway. I'm also on a 147 week streak - my longest was 156 weeks which started in 2019 and took in all the Covid lockdowns!

I'm on a 215 week streak 📖 I will also admit to physical books usually to read in bed 🙂
