I've planted out the garlic, leek and onions this week and my veggie plot is nearly full, but the lettuces are looking like lettuces now, so i'll soon be able to start lifing them plant something else in their place.
As to books i'm still in the middle of Bird Song, it's a fab book but a real eye opener about the 1st world war.
Wedding's a bit closer now, we've written the first invites they are being taken to Italy for us. unfortunately my mouth kicked in before my brain, i've only been asking for a list of people since last June, would have been handy when i was making 'just' enough invites, to find out i actually needed 5 not 2, doesn't sound much but when you've only made just enough it's a bit tricky, boy am i tight! I sound even tighter than i am in real life if that's possible. :)

Evening all! Well a no spend day for me! Had a lovely am with breakfast & book in bed with cuddles from puss cats...then housework (so I have yummy clean sheets tonight!).
Found myself forraging for nettles & ate them for tea & they were yummy! Honest! Have a ook on old style at OS vs USDA thread & theres a recipe (of sorts!) & a piccie! Very chuffed as its only the second from scratch recipe I've tried in terms of adding this & that and seeing what its like! Will def make it again & apparently it costs about 84p which isnt bad considering it had porchini mushrooms & they aint cheap!
Also had a lovely afternoon with Weezl forraging for elderflowers only to discover what I thought were elderflowers werent which caused much laughter & innovative cunning plans as we tried to find what WERE elderflowers only to discover theyre not out yet but theres a lovely one at the allotment! Then picked nettles, had a cuppa at the plot, planted some seeds and ate my ginger cake which wa yummy (crispy outside & yummy in!)...suspect it will be even nicer after a couple of days! All in all a blissful day. Just finished "In the red" which was very funny but I did question whether she had a proper LBM as (a) OH paid half household bills (b) she still shopped in M&S food (c) still bought lunch daily & didnt make bread and cut down in that way & has never, as far a I could tell, shopped in aldi, lidl or market!! Having said all that it was very funny reading things that were very "me" and I also felt quite proud that I felt I had, so far, got more from the journey in many ways having discovered reading, cooking, allotment, cheap fun and never did buy prada...!! Have desperately missed my granny this week...I made a new bread recipe and so wanted to phone her so she could have a try too...one of those forgot she died, then remembered & felt sad again. Thankful to have loved & been loved so much but still miss her...doeent stop me chatting to her though!
That sounds like a wonderful day,ISOM. I have spent a bit myself, but it has been a bit of a treat so i don't feel guilty about it at all. i love that thread, but have never been brave enough to try the recipe..think i will now.

Morning ISOM..seems like you've had a real good think and are more positive since I went away..WELL DONE on the NSD days as I know that this is one of your main issues..it seems that you've really turned the corner there.

oh dear taxi, have I been a miserable cow then?!! Do feel more upbeat...possibly the weather & feeling reinspired by not spending. Do feel generally happier TBH so thats good! Also enjoying the reading & even switched the tv off for a good book and listened to music - something I havent done for ages!
I read Bird song ages ago and loved it LT!
Started my no spend week this week and with the exception of a preagreed sponsorship spent nowt! Had my 2nd batch of nettle mix for lunch & just off to change litter trays & eat supper...poss cheese on toast! Woke up hungry again at 4am!

Hmm, just had to say it, don't mix up the cat litter with the tea, i think you could find a good use for cat litter ..if Ampersands letter was anything to go by the other day. x

LOL..you haven't been a miserable cow..you just sounded a little down sometimes just as we all do on this debtfree quest...the NS challenge really seems to be working for you which is great as most of the times that you felt down it was after spending..you sound really chilled out at the moment..take care xx

aww thanks taxi! I can be a bit of a moaner at times!! I think weezl has reenthused me with saving money and felt a bit fed up with not feeling motvated IYKWIM! Plus I managed to oay off uite a bit but went too far which left me o/d 2 months running and that stressed me out. This month I am just paying mins on cc's and accepting that some months will be better than others & I need a catch up with myself month. Mind you MOT is due next month eek! I think I also compare myself to others and sometimes feel a bit of an underachiever IYKWIM and have really enjoyed doing less surveys, going back to basics and just chilling about it a bit. Spending time away from DFW has helped (on o/s!) as new people, less "help I'm in huge debt" posts which do tend to make me feel low after a while so while I want to help newbies I also need to get support for me too! The no spend weeks also feel like a manageable chunk (rather than the GC which I usually !!!! up soon!!) and that works for me. If I fail I can always start again the next wek rather than going the whole month to start again...I have a tendency to say I've stuffed it u s s** it so having a closer get back on the wagon time is good! Plus the tablets are working for the PMT & that makes a huge differece as dont constantly feel I'm battling feeling VERY low...
Busyish day in work, meeting PM & a second NSD. This eve will be spent catching up on washing 9such an exciting life!) and adding the bills up a its payday! In the account & out but at least a further dent on the debts, even if only a wee one!!

I am glad you have found a challenge that works for you ISOM. I have so few NSD with the family I would struggle to do two days in a row. I suppose the closest I could get was a no spend on me week ie chocolate, lunch etc.
