  • Morning all! Well had a good nights sleep & now trying to enjoy my last day off befre work tomorrow! Mum going in a bit so will the clean & tidy in readyess for normality! Just had a blissful, but tearful, hour in bed with tea finshing "A thousand splendid suns" which is next months book group book. Not one I woul normally have chosen but having done so can say its a beautifully written, powerful book & one that I would add to my best ever books lists. Wept buckets throughout though!
Welcome bob - the more the merrier! Hope you dont fall alseep reading through! Not THE most exciting life, but its mine!
Wow LT you HAVE been busy! Thats a awful lot to do! Look forward to getting piccies!
No doubt most of you are off in work! Off to catch up!
I have just bought that in WH smiths- with some of my birthday vouchers- i thought i would treat myself. I also have most of the other R&C booklist as well. I will probably read it tomorrow after i have finished Random acts of Heroic love, a beautiful book as well. I used to belong to a book club and am thinking of joining again.
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

Hi ISOM, I have just started The Kite Runner and am loving it, have actually got it on my ipod as it distracts me whilst running. Never had an audio book before and was dubious but having listened to The Island (which was absolutely brilliant) I was a convert. Have to say though that I do still prefer to read a book, but quite good listening to someone telling me a story whilst running/driving.

The Island is about a Greek Leper colony, is really really good http://www.readtheisland.com/theisland.html Me and my friend have agreed once I am debt free we are going there :j

Think it will have to be music for the marathon as I tried to listen to my book whilst running a half marathon and got so engrossed in it I slowed down  Good for doing long weekend runs when time doesn't matter though, and listening to in the car, kitchen, etc etc :D

I'm waiting for boss to come in and then off to see a client, only just skimming the papers now

    Have a good day
