  • hello NDG lurker!! I think even they may be worried as so many people now wont be able to pay...
aww taxi thats really lovely and regardless I'll think of her as I go round (puffing!!). It sounds like she had a really positive approach and was strong & courageous. I walked it last year & it still felt immense and the atmosphere was amazing & I can only encourage you from that perspective. Lots of peope waked it and there were walkers & runners alike so you didnt feel self concious either way. It was a really special day for me as was really the start of my get back into life, kick butt on being so vast journey and will always be special for that reason!

hi ISOM hope you are healing well. I was offline most of the weekend - OH was here yay!
I'm terrified about a recession, like you i'm paying all the bills on my own (at the moment). And though you'd think my organisation would be secure i've been there just over a year and i've already had to undergo a reorganisation. Also i've been made reduntant before so it makes the panic more real. Ok whine over.
Did quite well on ebay this weekend, selling that is, but someone's comment ruined my feel good vibes but i've decided they can take a running jump!

my x used them when he was giving up, worked like a dream as you are still doing the "habit" of the hand to mouth action so don't miss the cigarette as much. combine that with patches you should be fine. I think most people miss having a cigarette in their hands which intensifies the cravings, replace it with something and it makes it easier.

Hi ISOM! Don't think I've ever been on your "new" diary [KC hangs head in shame] - and you've had an op! And you're clearing brambles! Hope you haven't had any ill effects from that. It sounds great - I'm struggling with brambles in my garden, let alone in an allotment: a couple of days ago I turned a new leaf with the first garden activity of the year, cut a root right back and dabbed it with weedkiller, just a dab. Think I might have shot myself in the foot tho - used a saw to cut it back, and that sent little bits of root all over the soil - does dust like that count as sufficient to root again, I wonder? We'll see....

Anyway, also love the idea of all that home made chutney, sounds great round your way at the moment - but not too much activity so short a time after an op, hey? Hope the healing goes well.

  • Morning all! Thanks for the PM's about sponsorship - much appreciated every penny helps! Welcome KC! Dont worry I use weedkiller when I get impatient!! Thats why I dont mind buying non-organic veg but no longer buy non-organic meat! They just dropped the car off - £122 so not bad. Fortunately the exhaust just needed a clip but with 4 new spark plugs, air filter etc its not bad cost! I've known him since I've lived here & he cant believe how much I've changed with spending! Will give home a jar of chutney when I go to pay the bill - whether he likes it or not!!
Healing is slow...trying to do things but feel quite sore so going to cover wound today. Am meeting my old allotment secretary at the plot as he wants to look at my weeds!! Hope all ok?!!

Yep, thanks, all is well - decluttering like crazy (recycling pile of A4 paper is a foot high in a fortnight), one session out in the garden and more planned, more work coming in over the last few weeks (and my hourly rate is good, so that really helps), lots of different plans about to go into action, got some bingo going on in the background at the mo and Stargate on the telly - talk about multi tasking!
