here is an example of what I will evenually make - probably in turquoise cotton fabric but that will be a way down the line as I need to hone technique first which is where the eve class comes in! Am really chuffed with the machine and do think I've got a bargain...hope it wont come under the too good to be true category but we will see! Do you do patchwork dragon? I'm happy with it KP - its alot of money but am happy that I didnt impulse buy. Nice to see you BTW Dragon - not seen you round these ere parts for a while! A few bits I want to get tomorrow - pins, a hoop and some threads and possibly this months book for book group!
Will be nice to have a day out! Hope you all have a good day!
Ooh looks nice! My Mum used to have one like that but the quilt itself was stripes of red and cream and then the quilting over the top of that. I have done patchwork but I normally do counted cross stitchDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Hello ISOM,
I've never posted on your thread before but have been subscribed to it for quite a while.
I have a Kimono pattern Simplicity 7441, which is over 20 years, with no instructions, (also a size 10, which for me was a long, long time ago  )
The ladies on the "Does Anyone Sew Their Own clothes" thread may be able to help you

(again this is an american one, but the delivery is is quite prompt & I never had any problems with them)

aww Inky cats thank you for coming out of lurkdom to give such useful info. Do say hi more often! I was discussing with weezl that I could never be a lurker as much too gobby!! Would always want to gt my oar in but as times goes on am learning to restrain myself and leave time if I feel cross!! Thank you too for patterns will look at them when I have some time to peruse and will keep you posted. Just some background...my lovely granny had one and I always wanted one like hers (cos as pepys may tell I love her very much & miss her often) so thought I would make one! Inkycats is that your cat inky perchance?!! I have a sim one called poppy who is called poppy because she looks just lke her daddy. Currently sitting on op of my scrpbook/craft cupboard looking down on us with great superiority! Alfis is indeed grogeous but I do worry (ever so slightly!) that he has adhd as just doesent stop...also a rather nasty tendency to bite when having his nails cut which he will soon be rid of!
Hoping that machine arrives today...wont have much time to play with it but if it comes early enough I may take a couple of hours off this pm. I am out this eve so wont have time...
sea hope the cj arrives and cheers you up...
sorry havent caught up on you all...just so little time !Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Oh wow Isom!!
The parcel arrived this morning - it's gorgeous!! It really did cheer me up and thank you also for the mag - that was a nice surprise too, and I intend to sit down later and read it with a nice cuppa!!Have you been on ukscrappers recently? there is a summer stash bash, aimed at using up the scraps - I've made a gorgeous mini book and it was soooo easy and yet looks like it wasn't!
Hope your SM arrives today!

Hi ISOM,
Thanks for the welcome :j
Inky was my first black cat when I got my own place, sadly no longer with us, she was a rescue cat, with an unknown history, gorgeous cat, if I didn't get up at what she thought was feeding time, she used to tap me gently on my cheek until I woke up.:D
I also had persian called Zeus at the same time, who Inky used to chase & mastered the art of running around on three paws, with the fourth one stretched out to tap Zeus but she only ever came away with a paw of grey fluff :rotfl:
Don't have any cats at the moment, 'cos living in rented accomodation & no pets allowed
Good luck with finding a pattern, I recently remade mine, from the pattern I mentioned in first post on your thread, obviously modifying it to allow for being a size 13 (to fat for for a 12 but 14's are too loose)
Take care

ahh I wish a size 14 was even close to loose inky!
in haste as nee dto have a bath before I go out...well the machine arrived and with huge disappointment soon realised that I was right - it was too good to be true! long story short they had put the next models details on my models place so could just say - its a mistake and if you pay x then we'll send the next one up...after some investigation, discussion and negociation I got the right one (60 stitches, not 25 as arrived) for 20 more but if it doesent arrive as it should I'll be off to trading standards...woman locally (who I trust) said to go with it but she also understood why it sticks in the throat - which is does - blokes attitude stank - he basically said tough - pay it if get a refund! I was going to pay a bit more to get it from local shop but they couldnt beat the price...a real shame and fingers crossed that the next one is the right one. If not I'll kick butt big time. Will try & see if owt on internet about them as cant believe this is the first time this has happened!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
