hi... all well i am in my business unit for a few hours today... just having a bit of a tidy up....as yesturday i started clearing our spare/ebay room out.... hubby brough some things up here fro me buy as usual just dumped them in a pile on the floor....will not be long here, and then a trip to tesco to try and get more h&b leaflets.... and then home to carry on clearing the ebay room... decided to give it a lick of paint... and to try and sort out the damp patch in the corner.... that could be because of the fish tank, plus the rad is switched off in that room... and maybe because there was sooo much junk in there that the air might not have been circlating properly....
plus we are going to find a cheap carpet to put down in there... so it will be all sorted then.....
has anyone started the jan 2008 grocery challenge thread yet ? i have been trying to work out a budget and would like to start the new year by doing this, last time i tried it ..everything went pear shaped.. so put me off trying it again...lol..
hope everyone is well and stress levels have now calmed down.....as that is christmas over with for another year....Work to live= not live to work0 -
Morning.
Had to go and open up at work for 7.30 this morning. Only one lady waiting for me...her bus was early.
I popped to the nearby Morrisons, as on x-mas eve, I managed to drown the work kettle and now it doesn't want to boil. I got there for just after 8am only to find they were opening at 8.30 this morning
I went to the tiny Tesco instead and got a £4.80 ish kettle.
They had the 1.16kg tins of quality street reduced to approx £2.50....I managed to resist....good job, as I have put on a good few pounds when I went to Slimming World.
I had thought about visiting M&S at 6am, but went at 9am instead...I only wanted some trousers for OH, but the nice Italian ones were still full price
I did get him 3 vests though.....not quite the same.
I may have to go into work this afternoon, just hoping that the hordes haven't descended with their dirty washing and the girls on shift can cope.
I collected the remains of the turkey from Mum yesterday, so I will have to plan on what I'm going to do with it. I can feel a search of the recipe index coming.
Kyle, I am sorry to hear of your loss, I agree with your mum, don't tell DS the ins and outs of what's happened, you don't need him worrying.
Kethry, enjoy your Christmas lunch.....that will teach you to go messing about behind the cooker.
Hester, make the most of the peace and have a good family day tomorrow.
Mioliere, hope you are feeling better.
Hugs to all poorlies and those with sick littlies.

Hello All
Back from town now, all bills paid! (town was packed, but luckily the bank was empty)
Brought some Christmas cards for next year, all 1/2 price.
Medicine for the kids.
WM & TD on, trying to get down the mountain before the wk end.
Will prep veg for dinner, was going to do a curry, but with the kids still being ill, dont think they're up to eating spicy food. Then an afternoon of watching George of the Jungle. me & OH still not talking, so I haven't a clue when he finishes work!
Off for a cuppa now!

Hello everybody,
You lot are so organised! Mind you, it would be considered the height of bad luck to take down decorations or tree before 'Little Christmas' or 6th January here, so I will suffer on...would like to have the whole thing stripped and cleaned, at least we had no turkey debris this year as we had dinner at my brother's, have just shredded last of yesterday's lamb and we are having curry later on...just seven of us and two littlies. Have done some washing but will have to use clothes horse as its wet and windy here.
Kyle and Twink....hugs
Kethry...sorry to hear of your kitchen problems.
Have been sleeping late for the last couple of days so feeling quite fresh for a change.
Hope that you all enjoy the rest of Christmas

Afternoon Everybody
At w**k today but nobody is in so I'm having a desk tidying session, its nearly done so I think I'll attempt my filing cabinet next not looking forward to that one little bit.
After I've done today I wont be in until 7th Jan so I'm going to tackle the mess at home. DH said he had put the presents away yesterday but what he meant was he had put them in a heap by the christmas tree. I did a rough budget at lunchtime and it doesnt look like there is any money left for food so its going to be storecupboad and xmas left overs all the way this month
Have a good afternoonSorting my life out one day at a time0 -

Afternoon everyone!
Hugs to Kyle. Sorry about your aunt and hope your ds is on the mend soon.
We've got into lazy holiday mode as the girls have been getting up and plonking themselves down on the computer, DS Lite, and TV and leaving DH and I still sleeping in bed! :rotfl: So our meals have been getting later and later, still we had some lovely BLTs for lunch and it's pasta and veg for tea as I'm sick of turkey and gammon.
I froze 4 containers of turkey in stock for future meals and the freezer is back to being full again! It's just over a week since I did my food shopping and I'll probably pick up some veg and bread on Saturday when we do MIL's shopping. I'm hoping to stick to my £50 per week food budget again for the 4 of us and I'm hoping that next month might even be more frugal than that!
I'm keeping away from the sales as we don't really need anything, although I will need to get DD1 some more school shoes before she returns to school so hopefully I might get some reduced ones.
We haven't been out of the house since Sundayand we were planning on going for a walk today but it's been raining for most of the day so we'll have to make the effort to go out tomorrow instead.I've quite enjoyed 'hibernating' this week as life is usually so hectic and we're out most days so it's nice to be lazy and not busy for a change! :rotfl:
DH bought me a surprise CD of American Folk music which I'm listening to now and it's really good so I'm feeling quite chilled (for a change).
Have a good afternoon!0 -
